To me it sounds like chalk on a chalkboard.
That girl's definitely not right in the head.
She's certifiably insane, or at least has some weird personality disorder.
I pretty much hate her with the fire of a thousand suns. I would have slapped her silly, or devised a ball gag of some sort. Gack. Just. Shut. Up.
I hate the drama queen shows, but seeing as they are doing segments on their living together this year I guess I'd better get used to it.
I thought I read that there will still be 18 men/boys and 18 women/girls in the final 36. But the final 12 will not necessarily be 6 and 6.
Casey is cute/hot/attractive but something about those Campus USA photos is odd, I think it is the combo of the hair, makeup and her facial expression. It might also be that she is more naturally attractive and adding the makeup takes away from that natural beauty look.
She's more cute than hot, IMO. She looks too much like a 14-yr old to me. Some might find that hot, I guess.
That's how I feel, I couldn't take that laugh very long. I'm sure she'll be gone soon.
Given the all the responses in this thread, if they are representative of America, it does sound like that girl won't last long.
It's not Tatiana's laugh or looks that bother me... It's just how self centered she is that disturbs me (and is extremely unattractive)...
I'm guessing that'd be the response of most of the world.
It's quite obvious that girl is... um... staunchly in favor of Cocoa Puffs.
I would agree with the posts above that group night does serve a purpose in determing who can handle what is coming if they stay in the competition. The primary purpose is to create drama, but it does accomplish some other things.
I can't stand Tatiana. I don't even know how she made it through the audition. She can't sing, she's not attractive, she's crazy, etc.
I was sorry to see Rose go. She and Lauren (I think that was her name) were both victims of bikini girl. (Can you just kick someone out of your group? That would have been the way to go.).
I always like the female bluesy singers. I didn't see my girl Frankie (aka Amy Winehouse Jr). If she is still there, she's probably on borrowed time, too.
I thought I saw Frankie at the end in one of the celebration shots of folks making it on. Not definitive, but I'd think they would have acknowledged her leaving had she been cut.
I hope the girl with the goofy laugh doesn't make Top 36.
I was surprised that with all the people they appeared to boot off, and with all the poor performances, they only got rid of about 25 people on group night.
She's cute and all but she wasn't very nice when she tried to take lead in her group and also tried to bail on them with the other group.
The funniest part of this to me was when the one girl was trying to switch groups.
If you closed your eyes, it sounded like an animal documentary.
"<Somebody> decides to leave her first group and try her luck with a new group. When she decided to leave the new group, there is first confusion, followed by anger" then a bunch of incomprehensible cackling.
I'm not entirely sure about that, but it would make sense based on something I did read; the 36 will perform 12 at a time, and the top man, top woman, and top of the remaining 10 advance (either the judges choose the last 3 themselves, or they choose 12 "wild cards" to perform again and viewers choose the last 3 - I'm not sure which) - this does not make too much sense if there are different numbers of men and women in each group.
This is what I remember too. (The judges choose the 3 remaining to round out the top 12 is what I remember, and they are not bound by gender restrictions).
You're right. It only makes sense if each group of 12 semi-finalists is six men and six women (using the terms for adults even though some performers are boys and girls rather than men and women).
Doing that with a group of 9 men and 3 women would be like a sport with division champions advancing to the playoffs where the divisions don't have the same number of teams.
So I guess for now, the field is divided into men and women, and the top 18 of each sex needs to be picked by the judges.
