That DaAli G impression was wild. The sounds were so..... realistic. Cat boy was amazing.
The guy who toured with Christina Aguilera was really good. I think he'll be a finalist.
I loved the Bling Bling couple
The bit at the end when Simon found out the high-pitched guy used Paula & Randy's "Learn to Sing like a Star" DVD (or whatever it's called) was pretty funny. That guy was also sort of odd; he had this look on him like he could go postal at any second.
The girl in the blue dress.... I think I want to have her baby. Dang!
I had no idea there was a DVD out..why not give it to all the hopefuls? Worked so well
Didn't they show a rejected person tearing one of them up last year? Or was it another how to sing DVD?
You are correct - it was also the Paula and Randy CD.
Except for Sherman's story, with him singing for his dead partner, I found this to be a rather boring episode. I liked the people that were put through, and didn't see anyone who should have made it, but didn't.
what a let down after we were teased with the buildup for the daughter of the backup singer to Dean Martin (?).
I was thinking she'll be good and the she had to go and open her mouth.
Yep, totally expected her to be good. Even the dancing was awful.
do the people that dont make the singing show try out for the dancing show ?
There was one Idol hopeful who made it to HW who also tried to get on So You Think You Can Dance. She made the cut there initially but didn't get too far. Not too good at either but IIRC, easy on the eyes.
Amazon seems to be selling it and it looks like it is now almost half off the original price.
Sherman was awesome.
So... when the judges say "I remember you" are they just saying that because on the piece of paper it says they made it to hollywood last year? I think so...
Cat boy was TOOOOO much! I was dying!
I forget who it was, but they put through someone that I thought was terrible. It was the one where Simon said, "I really really really really really liked you."
While I'm no talent scout (and I think I'm tone deaf), I think he'll go very, very far. I liked his look, his voice, etc.
Was it the person who said she'd give up music once and for all if she didn't make the cut? I didn't think she was terrible. I thought she was untrained and had potential, but certainly not as good as simon indicated.
Ryan Seacrest received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Why?
I kept telling my wife that was a joke.
If he gets one, that's a very, very long walk (of fame).
Googling reveals (I think) it's true, for:
Since Seacrests debut, American Top 40 has more than doubled its listeners topping out at a record breaking 3.1 million listeners per show.
Seacrest also took over the most coveted radio position in Los Angeles on its Top 40 radio powerhouse 102.7 KIIS-FM morning show. Since the new Seacrest morning show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest premiered on February 26th, 2004 over 1 million people tune in each week to wake up with Seacrest and the show has become the #1 most listened to morning show in Los Angeles.
