Ok, now I am doubting myself that I named Take Five as the correct song. I think I am wrong. I've already deleted the episode. Can anyone else confirm?

You can listen to the melody of take five here:

I think you're right, but I can't find Billie Holiday's version. In the iTunes music store they have a version by Carmen McRae. Plus, the song she sang had a similar melody to Brubeck's Take Five, though I didn't know lyrics were ever written to the tune.

I tend to agree with you. And after having watched Rock Star last year, it became even more apparently just how amateurish even the people that made it to the finals were last year compared to people that really have spent time singing in bands.

Um, yeah it was funny when he asked her to dance, her reply was, "I am not allowed to do that."
I think that she wanted to, but was scared. She tends to have a thing for those type of guys. Good thing he was married. She seemed disappointed...

Thank you. I feel better now... I didn't know lyrics were written either.

It's a fun song to play. The 5/4 count can make it tricky, which is why I was so impressed with the 16 yr old singing it. It's definitely something you have to feel. She's very mature for a 16 yr old...

That's one of my favorite jazz tunes of all time. On some of Brubeck's live albums, they play it and the song goes on and on and on...Good stuff.
