Muslims and Christians don't worship the same god. At least through a Google search I just did. The Christian god is the trinity: the father, the son and the Holy Ghost. Muslims deny Jesus was the son of god. So, they are denying the son part of the Christian god. So, they don't believe in the same god.

As to the umbrella. I mostly see black umbrellas in my world. Was there a meeting saying most umbrellas should be black?

It's the same god...they just have different ideas of what he comprises.

They both have the Old Testament god, plus add-ons. ;)

Heck, even the Christians don't always agree!

I never heard that trinity thing (I mean, I heard it, of course, but not in the context that it's different from Jews or Moslems)

God is God. Jesus is a prophet for Moslems, the son of God for Christians. The Holy Spirit is Gabriel and both religions revere him (but worship? that's kind of out there...).

It's all the same God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohamed. To say that it's different is just plain wrong. I will, however, concede eddyj's point that many people don't know that. I was wrong about that. I could've said most smart/educated people know it's the same God but here you are proving me wrong there as well :p

As to the umbrellas...meh...won't argue...I assume you were joking...

No, in Christianity, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are both God too. All three (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) are God.

It's the same God in the sense of being connected by a continuity; they are different gods in the sense that they have attributes which would make them distinct. Someone who believes in a monotheistic god must conclude that practitioners of other religions are worshiping the same God but are mistaken about His attributes. A polytheist might conclude they are different gods. An agnostic wouldn't be able to make up his mind. An atheist would consider the question without content.

I haven't watched this yet as I just restarted Netflix and have a huge backlog.

But here is my question. When I set a 1P for this, it only shows me one episode. Is this normal for a new show? I know I can go into Netflix and see them all though.

As you can see from my count, I don't post a lot. I just know they aren't SP (season pass) anymore.

What is a One Pass? :)

It isn't a Netflix thing, is it?

Not a Netflix thing. On TiVo, a Roamio actually. I set up an OnePass on TiVo for my Netflix series and Amazon Prime series and set them to "streaming only". That creates a folder in the NPL for all the episodes. As I watch an episode, I delete it from the folder giving a quicker view of where I am on all the series without having to actually go into Netflix or Amazon.

Back to my original question. For Altered Carbon though, the NPL folder only shows the first episode, not all of them.

    Same here

TiVo has been pretty bad lately for streaming shows

Tivo’s pattern appears to be adding one episode of a show, and then adding the rest a few days/weeks later.

I have set up quite a few OnePass for Netflix shows. This is the only one with the problem, Maybe it is the only one that was just put online though.

I did have the opposite problem for End of the F***ing World though. All episodes showed up except the first one. I had to go into Netflix itself to find the first episode.

I didn't even know that you could set a 1P for stuff on Netflix!

Neither did I. I'm not sure if I'll use it though---I like how Netflix automatically transitions from one episode to the next without me having to do anything...

The OnePass does the same. Pick one and it starts playing on Netflix, then Netflix will still go to the next one at the end. You just have to remember to delete the ones you watched. My List on Netflix does basically the same thing unless you want all your shows in one place. (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, & recordings).

The main drawback is that sometimes Tivo is slow adding shows or episodes.

Finished it last night. It was good, not great. Certainly not in the same league as The Expanse for me.

Everyone is saying how great the visuals are. They aren't spectacular. Maybe I'm unfairly judging them against Blade Runner 2049 or something.

The plot had some problems and the main antagonist storyline was just too ridiculous to really be gripping.

Reviews claimed that the mystery was extremely convoluted. I didn't think so. It seemed to be much tighter than I was expecting in the end.

A lot of things in the show's universe didn't make sense to me. I'm not sure if it's unique to the show or also present in the books. The entire idea of how the prison system works seems pretty moronic. The durability of stacks seem to suit whatever the plot needs and have no real consistency or logic behind them. Are envoys supposed to actually have any abilities that set them apart besides implausible kung fu moves? Was the sonar ability Kovacs had related to being an envoy? Why is it so easy to hack everything? Why did Leung have that amazing cloaking technology in the first place? Seemed like a superfluous plot point to me.
