Alphas gets another season.
I like Alphas. I'm usually a week or two behind the current episode but I've grown to like this show more and more.
Glad to hear it.
Yeah, I canceled the SP after the first couple eps (maybe only one), but I have resumed watching it.
I was glad to see this. After fearing it was going to be another quickly cancelled take on "Heroes" -- like ABC's "No Ordinary Family," which I really liked and will miss -- I've been enjoying the show. The characters are distinct and interesting, and I like the moral/ethical struggles that are challenging the boss and, occasionally, his team.
I do hope the Red Flag overarching story arc comes back into the foreground, soon - recently it seems like it has fallen back into the background. I think it has potential.
Good news! I like this show.
Agreed. I like the FBI agent play by Veronica Cruz. She should be on the show more.
Sensitivity Girl reminds me of a brunette Sarah Michelle Geller.
He annoyed me at first but Gary is the star of this show. "Respect the badge!"
Gary is awesome. There have been moments where I've wondered if some of his dialog may be improv. There have been one or two occasions where things he's said seem to have taken the actor playing Bill off-guard to the point where he's had to suppress a chuckle.
Gary *is* awesome. And I love that his character is so different from the one he played on "Bones." (Where I also liked him.)
I don't think Gary is awsome, BUT, I *DO* think he gets all the best lines. He really is a completely different character from what he played on Bones. Of course, David Strathairn's character is totally different from the one he played in, oh, Sneakers, for example.
I agree. He REALLY REALLY annoyed me at first. Now he is my favorite.
Gary is the Walter (Fringe) of Alphas.
Good news. Thanks!
Glad it got renewed! I have enjoyed it and was hoping it would keep going another few seasons.
I'm pleasantly surprised. Given the extremely long period between filming and broadcast, I figured this season was just an excuse to burn off episodes.
Except significantly prettier.
This happened to be on TV yesterday morning and I recognized him from Alphas. I hadn't realized that was him until I saw the movie again.
Maybe they were trying to find the right slot for it? At least SyFy got one right, for a change.
I'm not sure how long "extremely long" is in this case, but it's normal for Syfy and USA shows to be shot as much as a year before air, and for first seasons to be even longer.
Syfy picked up the pilot August 2009. Seems a long time to me.
On an unrelated note, looking about the web I see that the original concept for the characters was significantly different. Here is how they were pitched 2 years ago.
