Wow that was chock full of interesting tidbits.

A cameo from Dr Calder from Warehouse 13, placing this in the same production universe as W13 and Eureka, that could be fun crossovers in the future.

Not a bad mystery, decent team interaction
That's a good place to start, this show has been a pleasant surprise.

I am enjoying how they keep mixing the "teams" up. The same two Alphas don't pair up each time. I was surprised that Dr. Rosen only took Rachel with him at first though, it seems like he would want the whole to team to investigate.

That said, I wish they would run into an Alpha or two that wasn't causing trouble so much as just doing stuff and using their abilities and yet, maybe don't want to be part of the team or part of the bad guys team. I was thinking the doctor - Lindsey Wagner - would have some alpha ability in healing or diagnosing or fighting disease and Rosen may see that and talk to her but she would say no, I just want to keep doing what I am doing, but call me if you need help. That all flashed thru my head when she grabbed the guys hand.

Seeing as how she's a crossover character from Warehouse 13, probably not. But maybe she's still bionic.

I noticed that too. So Eureka, Warehouse 13, and Alphas are all in the same universe. Strange, though, that the Warehouse isn't aware of Alphas, seeing as how Warehouse agents investigate strange phenomena.

I'm afraid what I mentioned in the thread about last episode is happening. Every episode has a "twist." So now it isn't really a twist - it is predictable. I guessed, as soon as I saw her, that the mom was responsible.

I didn't particularly like this episode. I thought it was a step backwards compared to the previous two.

Who says they don't know? Isn't the new guy an Alpha?

Do bear in mind, however, that one of the ongoing plots is Rosen's increasing unease with the specific missions they're being sent on. They're being used for something, and he's starting not to be happy about that.

Good point! I hadn't thought of the new guy as an Alpha, with his truth-sensing ability, but that would fit. Heck, Pete might be too, with his danger-sense.

Yea... that's really an interesting point... think of the guy in the previous episode, who had the airs on his arm stand up when things were afoot.

I too wondered if the Doctor would reveal something about WH13, but when she didn't that did make sense, because why would she mention about it, to another small division. Mostly WH13 stays in the dark.
I can't hit imdb at work, but off the top of my head I'd say it's on it's third season.

Plus the tone of Alphas is pretty radically different from the other shows in the Eurekaverse. Alphas doesn't fit in very well (at all, really) with Eureka/WH13. It makes sense that there would only be a subtle nod, not a flat-out crossover.

no worries, I think I'll survive! :D weird though, but I've always found the "similar threads" to be hinky at times

Does this show even have a future? It was so long between production and broadcast that I presumed the actor's contracts had expired and Syfy is just burning off the episodes.

This was the first episode that disappointed me. It wasn't bad - it just wasn't as good as the previous episodes.
