My TCD750500 Premiere 4 started flashing lights and trying to boot repeatedly. I replaced the hard drive as suggested in the forums as well as online and Tivo. Problem still exists. Anyone have other thoughts/ideas?

How did you prepare the new drive?

I didn't. Just plugged it in like I did with my Roamio a week ago when it's hard drive failed.

Premieres can't format their own drive like later models can. You need to restore a clean image to the drive with DvrBARS.

What size is the new drive so I can send you the correct image?

I've downloaded and extracted dvrBars but it won't run on my desktop. No problems running on my laptop but I cant burn the cd from my laptop.

That's usually due to a specific brand of SD card readers. You can temporarily disable it in Device Manager or BIOS to get DvrBARS to run.

I stepped out and bought a dvd writer to use with my laptop but now after unzipping the DvrBars, loading onto the cd and running the app, I get the attached error after the transfer runs for a few minutes.

    Why?

Did you follow GG's instructions above?

If you mean by disabling SD Card Readers in Device Manager, yes, but it wouldn't work for me. So now at least I have been able to burn DvrBars to disc but having trouble getting the 750500 image on to the drive.

I'm not sure why you would burn DvrBARS to a disk. It's just a normal Windows program that you can run from anywhere on the hard drive. I have never seen the error code (0x79) that you're getting, but it may be related to trying to run a program from DVD. It's a semaphore timeout error and DvrBARS doesn't use any semaphores.

Well, I finally got things up and running after I purchased a powered usb to sata cable. That allowed me to use my laptop to load the 750500 image on to the drive. I owe gg many thanks for helping me with this issue. I do have one other issue that isn't making any sense to me and that is I don't have all my channels that I previously had. I've gone to the cable company and they have tickled the box but that hasn't worked. I wouldn't think changing out the hard drive would have affected the channel line up. Wondering if anyone has run into this previously?

The "Data ID" value can be reset upon hard drive replacement. This value is only generated and used by Motorola/Arris systems. If it is reset, the CC pairing will be lost.

Pull out your cable card - what brand does it have on it (Cisco, Scientific Atlanta, Motorola, Arris, NDS, an other?).

The card is Cisco with a date of 6/26/2012. Time for a new card?

Probably fine. I just realized you didn't restore a backup - you loaded a blank image. In this case, identifiers may have been reset and you should go through the process of pairing the card like it is new.

If you go to Settings & Messages > Account & System Information > CableCARD Decoder > CableCARD options
(for installers) > CableCARD Menu > SA CableCARD CP Info, look at the line that says "Auth Status". It should say "CP Auth Received". If it does not, you're not paired.

It says waiting for CP Auth. How does one pair it?

Phone your cable company. If you let us know who you have for cable service and your zip code, we may be able to help you with the words to get to the right place.
