Still a bit predictable, but they're SLOWLY beginning to reveal what Hauser knows and DOESN'T yeat know about the whole 63s story.

Hopefully they spend a bit more time on that as 63-of-the-week ain't gonna cut it for long.

She gave up her gun again.

Albeit, not at the request of the bad guy, but willingly before meeting the bad guy, but still.

They dropped another hint about the 63s. They don't know why they're doing what they're doing. Given the flashback about memory and personality alteration experiments, that suggests the experiments were successful.

We know what the keys fit.

Once again. In 40 years since Alcatraz closed, nobody has found areas below and doors that hadn't been opened? You don't think that the park service folks and staff, much less the curious with access, have been all over that sucker? (Like: My buddy who was an alarm runner would crawl up into Lincoln's carriage at the museum.)

(Remember: The storage area that has all of the prisoners effects is still there and visible behind one door but is so secret that Hauser threw a gas grenade when they entered.)

Maybe if you don't have the keys, you can't see the door.

    :D

Since the warden was using keys that were apparently from the future in 1960 (laser cut), IMHO this is an additional piece of evidence that he is "key" (excuse the pun) to whatever is going on.

Unless the keys were a modern day copy of the ones from the past.

    There's one more key required.
Warden weird still has it in his pocket.

    Who was behind the door?

I say it's Marcellus Wallace with his
    MacGuffin
    in his briefcase.

    This show needs more MacGuffins.
    More hanging mysteries, too.
    I've about had it.

I'm wavering on this show. I think the lead girl (as cute as she may be) is miscast-ed and just looks unbelievable as a seasoned detective.
The '63 of the week plot I predict, and is already getting old. With all the mystery wrapped in an enigma the fact that Hurley and the girl are just dog '63 catchers means we won't get any answers to what the hell is going on for some time.

It looks like we get the first guard next week. And Robert Forster gets another paycheck.

Is every prisoner name cute? Cobb,Kit, Cal, ...Kip, Kit, Kim, Hal, Bob, Rob, Jim, Jay, Jan, Gay, Gar, Pam, Lim, Rim, Ham, Les, ...

    Hey, look!

(I hate to admit I googled to see if the names were of real pople.)

OMG! Guy and Webb and Paxton and Clarence are coming.

Din't Hauser say something to the nerds like "before the time jump..."

And Dr. Rippy hasn't aged either.

That may be, but there's no evidence yet. Since lasers then were research oddities and not common industrial tools, even if he knew what a laser was I doubt he (or most anybody else of the period including scientists) could tell the keys weren't the result of fine craftsmanship. He could easily be given the keys without knowing their provenance. Moreover, while he clearly knows about the experiments on prisoners, he may not know the real purpose or origin of the people running it.

So why are the keys scattered around to be found and steal and kill for?

This. And this. And this. Especially the first This. There have been shows where I thought someone was miscast, but this may be the first time I quit watching because someone is SO miscast I can't watch them without thinking how miscast they are. Or what he said.

I'm also getting tired already of the draggggging out of the mystery/answers. It doesn't seem paced in a well-written manner, as part of a flowing story. It seems to be dragged out simply as a plot device.

And 63 of the week just has no appeal to me.

One more week. Either a much better episode, or my last.
