I liked the little girl opera singer - but I agree with you on most else.
I thought the South African choir was just OK - but as far as that genre - not even close to some others I have seen/heard over the years... I was kind of hoping Simon was going to say you were good but not great...

P.S. I laughed as the show progressed by how many acts are NOT American - someone mentioned it earlier in this thread or another one someplace...

I liked the two contemporary dancing kids... 10-year-old Izzy was a firecracker... Her personality was contagious, and they danced well... I think that as imperfect as the dance was, it was still better than some of the dancing we see on SYTYCD. I would not be surprised if she auditions for SYTYCD when she is old enough...

I wish the minimum age was higher. In general I do not like seeing 10 year old kids doing much of anything. Still, at least they are off their cell phones for a few hours a day!

So far, this has got to be the worst quarter finals I can remember. I dislike most of the acts that have gotten through. On the plus side - I can watch the 2 hour show and 1 hour reveal in about 15 minutes.

I've noticed how there is not much chatter about the show lately. It's a good show for me to have on in the background while working because I just don't pay that much attention to it unless something really striking pops up.

I often found myself picking up my Kindle device to read while an act finished up.

I was sad to see the contortionist leave -- so bizarre and freaky -- but I had to agree with Simon that it got a bit repetitious and wasn't a step up.

She was my favorite too! She's pretty brilliant and physically gifted. I think her big mistake was it went on too long with the same song. She needed to change it up with a shift in tempo/story. I think she'd make a brilliant addition as a segment in a Cirque du Soleil show.

Yeah I watch the 2 hour show in about 20 minutes and the vote show in about 10. I saw Greg Morton perform in Vegas last month with Brad Garrett (well not WITH him, they were on the same bill). He was pretty funny, at that point I'd only seen his first performance on AGT.

I use the skip and fast forward buttons liberally during AGT (especially the results shows)...

I try to stick it out for the auditions and the competition performances. In the end, I root for backstories and talent, and I have a hard time appreciating either if I don't sit through it... But even during performances, if I have come to the conclusion that I "get it", and understand the gist of their act, I often use the skip button here and there too...

I appreciate the kid acts that actually have talent (not just talent "for their age"). I generally don't care for the acts that depend on kid cuteness to get them through...

I knew (with... 85% certainty :) ) that he'd get eliminated this round. I mean, he made me laugh! but he has no actual talent, especially if one compares him with some of the acts that were eliminated before him. His last performance was a bit of a let down. Boring compared to his previous one, when he "threw" stuff at the judges.

There's usually one "gimmick act" that makes it through to the final ten (and then somehow passes acts that finish above them to get into the Vegas show). Piff the Magic Dragon and Tape Face come to mind.

And that's twice in the past three weeks that I have called shenanigans on the show - first with the "technical difficulties with the voting" that got rid of the judges' vote, and now with Terry asking for Julianne's vote, then quickly going straight to Simon, almost certainly because they were just about out of time and "coincidentally" Simon would cast the vote that would end the show immediately.

I thought it was weird too with the technical difficulties and no judge save but I'm not sure what the motive would be to do it intentionally.

This show is becoming a mess. You know the young Opera Singer sounds great. However, I believe she is too young to be in any opera as those parts are mostly for woman much older than her. At least she should stick with well known parts on AGT.

She won't sing in operas until she's older, if at all - she'll do concerts, like Charlotte Church and Jackie Evancho

I am bummed out that the old blind blues singer is out-I loved him! I hope he has had enough publicity from the show that he has the career that he so richly deserves!
