I have done that, but will try again. It's an OTA Roamio so I've always just used the antenna mode. Thank you.

One thing you might try, since we're grasping at straws, would be to toggle your DVR's sharing permissions via your TiVo account's Device Preferences page.

Uncheck both the "Video sharing" and "Enable video downloads" boxes for the DVR; force a few service connections from the DVR (perhaps checking the above Troubleshooting page for changes); then re-enable the settings and repeat the service connections.

Well, if there's some lingering 'Comcast' issue on an OTA, there's something plenty goofy, but leave it to TiVo (Rovi!)...

Ignore the RC18, that's just the specific software release for the poster in question. The Troubleshooting page in question exists on the gen3/Encore (pre-Hydra) software, as well.

Oh, also, when checking that page, review the devices listed but also check the values for the features listed on the right side of the page for each device as you scroll through the list:

    Stream Live TV: Supported
    Stream Recorded Shows: Supported
    Transfer Recorded Shows*: Supported

    * Not applicable to Minis

I'll definitely try that and report back after work. I also will use the troubleshooting menu and report what I see there. Thanks so much!

One thing I find concerning about the info I'm seeing on the Troubleshooting page is that the page is listing devices no longer on my account.

Got home and did a repeat guided setup on roamio and then plugged in minis and ran guided setup on both. DVR Not message on both.
On the roamio in the whole home area-it listed one of the minis, but it was greyed out. V404 error code.

Were the Minis online and able to connect to the TiVo mothership at the time you checked that troubleshooting page on the DVR?

Still, I would have expected BOTH of your two Minis to *at least* be listed on the page, if greyed-out; that one of your Minis isn't even listed is especially odd, given I have 4 grey-out entries in my listing: two were taken offline and transferred off my TiVo account months ago, and the other two are still on the account but haven't been online for even longer. Maybe the difference between our reports is that your TiVo has experienced a factory reset, while mine's avoided that for a couple years and *has* seen all the listed boxes at one point or another.

Seems more and more like a problem only TiVo Support is going to be able to help you with.

Yes, I ran the guided setup and they were able to connect to tivo service.

Their solution is to wait 24-36 hours. That's what they said after an hour of phone troubleshooting yesterday.

It's surprising they have any business left with this as a primary "remedy" to issues.

Okay, I called again and 2 hrs later it is all working again.
The minis were stuck in guided setup after I downgraded them and continually showed DVR not found.
I brought one mini near the router and used ethernet b/c the existing MoCa network would not bring them out of DVR not found.
Using ethernet produced the same result.
The support person told me to connect the roamio to tivo service twice, unplug/plug and connect to service again and then run try the mini again via ethernet.
It worked. I did the same thing for the other mini and then returned each to their MoCa spots and b/c I was past the guided setup screen I just changed the network connection setting back to MoCa and I'm all good.
No recordings left, but at least I have my life back again.
Thank you krkaufman for sticking with me and kpeters59 for the helpful hints.

Well done. What's a mystery is why these service connections from the DVR made any difference. I'm left wondering if there wasn't something the CS rep did on their side.

p.s. You may want to visit that "Whole Home" troubleshooting page on the DVR to see what it should look like when things are working.

Even after the two minis were lit up, the whole home page still only listed one of the two minis, it was greyed out and message said can't connect.

I'll throw in a little something extra. I'm having a similar issue. About 10-14 days ago, my mini's wouldn't 'wake up' my roamio ota anymore and would report C501's or that the "dvr can't be found". Turning off the power savings to 'manual mode' sort of fixed it, as everything works okay with that setting. All devices are ethernet hard wired, but I DO have a weird setup. The Roamio is in a closet upstairs hooked to the giant antenna in my attic, but I don't have a tv connected to it and don't use it directly. I have three minis connected to three tv's and those are what I use. I haven't installed the hydra update. All three mini's developed the same problem. Everything has been rebooted at least once and of course everything has done a service connect within the past week.

Even with the minimum power savings settings, same problem.

Bummer because I only record or watch stuff in the evenings, so the other 20 hours the roamio is running full bore doing nothing useful for me.

This is a bug introduced with Encore.RC42. @TiVo_Ted has said he’s filed it as such, and it’s been replicated in the lab.

I'm also having many C501's on my Mini v1 for about a week. First happened within a day of a lightning storm that knocked out the HDMI input used by the Mini. I had assumed the two were related but thank you for your reports of this problem so I have hope that there is a software fix for the C501's.

Easy enough to confirm if your issue is related to the known bug by determining if your host DVR is in Standby mode. The symptoms should disappear if you make sure the host DVR is awake (front LEDs lit) before trying to do anything with the Mini.

While I was able to duplicate the SD NPL issue, I haven't seen any C501 or similar errors. TiVo keeps mucking with networking. Randomness is their only hope.
