A co-worker has an R-10 she has offered to give me. Its currently not it use. What would be required to activate it? I already have the DVR fee from D*.

Call D* and ask to activate it and request that they do so with its existing access card, Some CSRs may try to insist that you buy a new card for $20, but just say no...

You'll pay the $4.99 additional receiver fee, but the existing DVR fee will cover both your existing unit and the new unit. Make sure the current owner releases the unit from her account.

They will try to charge you $20 for the replacement access card, but I too was able to get away with using the same access card from the old account.
