As usual, I find myself disgusted with TiVo customer service...

After purchasing a Roamio on eBay, setting it up and successful switching the lifetime to my account, I found that everything works fine except transferring. After multiple calls to TiVo they finally escalated my issue and now I am waiting...

Both of my Roamios "see" each other.
They can play each others programs.
I have restarted, refreshed my WiFi network and forced many calls/connections.
And of course, i have waited patently because customer support says it can take a while.
    It's been 5 days now...

    What's Happening:
    My network is hardwired.
I am not trying to transfer copyright protected recordings.
Both my Roamios show up on the TiVo home page under my account.
However, under "Device Preferences," the new TiVo does NOT show up. TiVo says that they can see it and video sharing is enabled.
When I try to transfer from my new TiVo to my old TiVo, I get the "program not found" error. But, like I said, I can watch the program I am trying to transfer with no issue.
When I try to transfer from my old to my new TiVo, I get the message that it will transfer when the other transfer are finished. I have no "other" transfers, and the requested transfer just stays in my To Do list.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try rebooting the new Roamio without a network connection, then let it sit for about 15 minutes before reconnecting it. That should clear out any pending "ghost" transfers.

Well, that wasn’t suggested by the TiVo help people. I’ll give it a try.

But why can’t the old Romaio “find” the show I want to transfer from the new Romaino, when It isable to “see” everything on the new Romaino and play all it’s recordings?

Can you tell what Media Access Key is on the newly acquired Roamio?
It should be the same as the others.

I gave it try...no luck. Same issues.

Thanks for taking the time to offer a potential solution.

The next query is why it doesn't show up in your account DVR Preferences. Somebody goofed.

I suspect that has something to do with my issue. TiVo didn’t have an answer for that one...and of course, they’re closed for the weekend.

Have you 'forced' a connection to the TiVo Service on both devices? Maybe several times?

That sometimes clears up account glitches like that.

Is your eBay Roamio running HYDRA?

Too many forced connections on both machines to count!

    Interesting comment...

The previous owner had upgraded to Hydra and I rolled it back when I set it up. Both Romaios are running the original (Non-Hydra) user interface.

Well, my issue got escalated last Friday, 11/30....according to TiVo, they're "Working on it."

Still patiently waiting to transfer some shows...

    Thanks all for the suggestions!

...and then, just like that...without any contact or explanation from TiVo, I was able to transfer this past Tuesday. Of course, TiVo said they would contact me, but true to form, they never did. Can't wait for the email survey!
