    Hi,
Am I correct in thinking that the lifetime subscription belongs to the box not the owner? So if you 'sell on' a Tivo, the lifetime subscription stays with it. And it doesn't infringe the lifetime subscription terms and conditions?

    But who is the subscriber?

The one who paid or the one with the box?

Yes, AFAIK. Certainly the Tivo serial number travels with the box.

Yes, and the T&Cs specifically allow a lifetime to be sold on.

A quote from the revised terms and conditions ....

    14. Product Lifetime Subscriptions. A "Product Lifetime Subscription" to the TiVo service covers the life of the TiVo DVR you buy – not the life of the subscriber. The Product Lifetime Subscription accompanies the TiVo DVR in case of ownership transfer

That's good - but are you meant to notify them of the transfer of ownership?

The T&Cs state that you do, and pre 2011 people did do. There were issues when transferring but they were normally sorted.

Given the no new subs message from TiVo and the difficulty people have had getting through on the UK number, then I'd assume (probably wrongly) that tivo aren't interested.

You're meant to, but there's no practical reason to.

I bought my second hand Tivo with lifetime and never transfered. Does not seem to have made any difference. As any of the old support numbers do not have access to the Tivo database then there is no point.

I for one intend to stay with S1 (no cable) and trust a solution to any EPG problem will be found.
