There are quite a few flashbacks, but he's not coming back to life or haunting anyone so far.
Thank you. I had been wondering about that, since he’s so prominent in the picture.
Have they revealed yet what the secretary was doing or hid from everyone the day the guy jumped off the balcony at the office?
We haven't gotten back to this yet so I'm thinking we're just going to dump it. Anyone really loving it and think it's worth staying? Does it get lighter than the first episode?
It was his suicide note, contents as yet unrevealed. She is also concealing his financial difficulties that she has discovered; how this could have been kept from a secretary is not clear. The financial issue seems to be simmering in the background with her not explaining the reason the restaurant loan not being approved. There had better be a damn good explanation why she is keeping such bad faith with everyone.
I'd say it gets way darker after the first episode.
Out of curiosity, watched the "winter finale" on Hulu (caught the promo at the end of The Rookie (good show).
Didn't seem like it moved much since I cancelled my 1Pass after about ep3.
Episode 11 "Secrets and Lies"
It feels like the story is finally progressing a little bit. I still don't like any of the characters, but the 'mystery' is keeping me watching.
Could anyone tell how much the check was that Ashley got when closing the account? I paused the TiVo but couldn't read the amount.
I didn't catch it, either. Strange character. At first I thought maybe she was trying to protect them by hiding that stuff, but I guess she is really trying to get all the funds for herself.
I came away with the impression that dead guy has a second family. Was that right?
I didn't think Ashley was stealing the money. But I also don't know what she was doing.
I was wondering that, as well, about the second family. Then, Ashley's neighbor was inquiring about John, if he was back yet - something like that. As if Ashley and John were a couple. I do believe they gave hints that John and Ashley were involved with each other.
also what was with the two apartments? The crew thought they knew where to find Ashley and we thought they were headed to her place but she was somewhere different.
Ashley was at John's apartment. His Harvard stuff and video camera were there. The other apt was Ashley's place. She took Gary there so that's how he knew where she lived and thought she would be there.
I also don't think Ashley was stealing the money. I think she's trying to help Delilah and get the money and house thing fixed but also trying to keep John's secrets. I didn't get that he had a second family, but I didn't pay a lot of attention to the elevator scenes so I may have missed it?
From a review site - "The hour opens with a video that Jon shot of himself, and it looks like he might be in the apartment he showed Ashley at the end of Episode 10. Then, in the video he was making, “Let me just start by saying, I’m sorry. I abandoned you. I know for a long time, I’ve owed you some answers. There’s probably nothing I can say that can make this make sense, except just, I’m sorry, Barbara,” he says. Wait, what?"
There was another name on the paperwork Ashley found hidden in John's office, was it Barbara? I figure she's the woman Ashley tried to talk to, played by actress Constance Zimmer, but we don't know her name yet on the show.
Yeah - the name on the paperwork was Barbara, and I am guessing that is the Constance Zimmer character.
But who she is and what she has to do with all of this is still a mystery.
I'm glad that Jon and Ashley weren't having an affair. Their first and only visit together to his apt was the only thing in the whole Day Before episode that was worth watching. The rest was just useless filler (because I don't like any of those people!) Well, I do like Maggie, but I didn't care about the stuff with her and her Dad nor did I care that she repacked all of the stuff they had just unpacked.
I was glad to find out my assumption about Jon and Ashley were incorrect. They were not having an affair. I agree that was really weird with Maggie and her Dad and then I wasn't sure if she packed up what they had just unpacked or if the packed up scene was a different time/day. My most un-favorite character is Ed and then Delilah.
She packed what they had unpacked. She didn't want to unpack presumably to make it easier to have her stuff removed after she died.
who the heck is Barbara ???? LOL
One presumes it is Constance Zimmer's character. Apparently Joathan has ancient history with her; she was at his funeral in the pilot.
