It's supposedly on Dish network 119, biography, on tuesday night 11/15 but my EPG listing has it listed 3 separate times in a row.

What gives? To be safe I've set recordings for all 3 listings.

No need to set recordings for all three; they're airing it 3 times back-to-back. It's fairly common with cable channels.

    Thanks for the heads up!

The official name, for anyone searching for it, is:

Inside Story: Ferris Bueller's Day Off

It is 2 hours long, and will be shown 4 times on Tuesday night.

It's on four flippin' times on Tuesday night and when do I see this thread? Wednesday morning. Luckily it's on again on Sunday morning.

I'm about half way through watching. It's fascinating how great movies are largely lucky accidents.

I had an office at the top of that green building they keep panning by, 333 Wacker. When they show the gang on back of the tour boat that's Wolf Point in the background which is below the building. That's where I watched them set off those fireworks they show under the the credits at the end of The Fugitive.

I want to see them credit Vlasta the (Polish) Polka Queen. (She's the one playing accordion on the float at the (German?) parade.)

Watched this tonight. I love behind the scenes stuff like this.

Some of the things they had to cut out to bring the length down surprised me:
Ferris and Jeannie had a little brother and sister?
Charlie Sheen's character had a whole family story edited out.
Ferris and Sloane took Cameron to a strip club.

It would be cool to see some of that stuff.

I only watched the first half hour or so last night and noticed no Mia Sara in the interview portions. Does she show up eventually?

I liked hearing about some of the other actors considered for the part of Ferris.

    Yes, a bit.

I kept pausing the show so I could read the hand-written sheets they flashed that listed the people that auditioned for all of the major roles.

Eric Stoltz just couldn't catch a break back then. Pushed out of BTTF, and here lost the role of Cameron to Alan Ruck. I wonder how many other breakout roles he's lost out on?

Enjoyed this a lot. Especially the little-known trivia stuff.

fyi - there's an "Inside Story - Animal House" (as well as some other popular movies) coming up int he guide as well.

    Robin Wright!

They auditioned Meg Ryan, too, but she was too good.

John Cryer as Ferris (wouldda sucked.)

John Cusack was a good second choice as Ferris. Imagine with Joan Cusack as as his sister.

Louie Anderson on the cutting room floor.

It never dawned on me that Jennifer Grey was Jeannie. Her nose surgery went well.

I'm disappointed to that all of Mia Sara's stuff I've seen so far is actually from 2008 and not current like the rest of the interviews.

That's a GREAT one, as well as the one on "The Silence of the Lambs."

The Animal gang went to a real frat house party and got beat up because the drunken guys thought these Hollywood actors were trying to steal their dates. Once you see it and look close at the movie you can see their bruises.

I'd like to see one on Hunt for Red October.

Unfortunately there can't really be a "Director's Cut" anymore but I would love to see all of the deleted scenes. Are they available on a DVD version?

IAIRC, the editor says that he was editing while John Hughes was obsessed with "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" and couldn't get Hughes in to work on it. Hughes said, "Burn the other stuff." Not that he says that they did.
