I was nicely surprised. I love shows that blend genres. All the cast was great.
I wanted to like it, but too many things drove me crazy and so we deleted it before finishing it. The first was that this brain surgeon, who is specifically doing surgery on an optic nerve in this episode, goes to what look likes WebMD to find out what causes hallucinations. Ugh.
Jennifer Ehle (who plays Anna) is in it, so it gets an automatic SP. I love her. Best Elizabeth Bennet EVER.
I'm a huge Julie Benz fan, but even she couldn't save it for me.
I enjoyed it. The MD was a warmer version of House. The ex-wife ghost thing is weird but looks like a plot device to send him on "missions". I love Margo Martindale and hope she is a regular cast member.
I really liked this show. Hope it can survive being on Friday nights!
This was OK. The acting was better than in most pilots, although the dead wife seemed way too happy all the time. You'd think she'd at least be melancholy since she apparently left so much undone. Too much smiling: it was kind of creepy. The red ball with the smiley face was also kind of creepy. I wonder if they're going to explore any of that stuff, or if it's all just going to be Dr. Dogooder swooping into save people, egged on by a ghost.
I just wonder if they can really put together a whole TV series based on that premise alone. I guess we'll see...
It was ok - I will keep the SP for now.
I went into it knowing nothing at all. I only recorded it because it was a new show and had Patrick Wilson in it. Really liked him as Nite Owl in Watchmen. Was really excited when I also saw Julie Benz and Margo Martindale. End result didn't do much for me though. I don't think I'm the target audience though. I'll give it another episode or two just for the three actors above.
I can only imagine how much more nagging from the ghost of his ex-wife the guy can take before he says "Just shut up! Now, I remember why I left you in the first place." She was so annoyingly over the top touchy feely goody goody save the worldy that if she wasn't already dead I'd consider running her over with my car to finish the job.
We watched the first 20 minutes or so and then turned it off and deleted the SP. We knew nothing going into it about the premise. Don;t really like the genre. Too bad, because I like Julie Benz.
Wait! This show has both Jennifer Ehle and Julie Benz.
How was this show not on my radar?
I must be the only person in this thread that has never heard of Jennifer Ehle.
Well, Gray and I are probably required to turn in our man cards, but I also fell for her watching the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice with her and Colin Firth.
If it's any consolation I don't know who Margo Martindale is.
How did I miss Julie Benz???!! Where was she in the show?
My wife immediately brought up Pride & Prejudice when she saw her.
And I must admit, I have seen almost every version or retelling of P&P. It's my wife's favorite story.
Make that one of two people.
Actually, not knowing who Margo Martindale is is more proof that your mancard was issued in error, since it means you weren't watching Justified last season
Nope, never seen an episode of that show.
It's really, really good. I highly recommend.
And of course I recognized Jennifer Ehle from Pride and Prejudice.
And Julie Benz from Buffy and Dexter.
I watch a lot of really good TV.
