I bought another Bolt last year on the Whiteout Sale. I got an email confirmation from Tivo shortly thereafter that future annual renewals would be $99 (a great deal)

On September 21, I get the renewal notice that the annual rate would be $149 (not what I was told in writing).

Next on September 26, I get another email:
Important Notice: Correction Regarding Whiteout Sale Service Renewal

    Dear Valued Customer,
We have noticed a system configuration error. If you receive an email that your current annual renewal service price will return to the regular annual $149.99 in 60 days, that email was sent in error. Please disregard that message. Your contract will continue at the Whiteout Sale rate of $99.99 for annual.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience that this might have caused.
If you have any questions, please contact TiVo Customer Service at (844) 254-8486 to cancel your account.
Thank you for your patience. Thank you for continuing to be a loyal TiVo customer.
    Sincerely,
    TiVo Team

I noticed yesterday that my credit card had in fact been charged for the $149.99.

Has this happened to anyone else who bought during last year's Whiteout Sale ?

Use this error as leverage to try and have them give you all-in service for this price.

Hi everyone, we’re really sorry for this billing error. There was some sort of glitch in our SAP system that triggered a return to the regular price. We will be fixing this for everyone impacted and should be sending out an email update early next week. You should not need to contact customer support to resolve this issue, but feel free to contact them for more details on how the charges will be corrected.

Thanks Ted. As an update, I did get the correct $99.99 billed to my credit card after contacting customer service. HOWEVER, they never credited the original $149.99 that was changed to my credit card. This is making me long for the days of dealing with the Cable Company's customer service...

I was charged the correct amount of $99. Thank God. I dread talking to their customer support.

My plan for my Bolt renews in April for $149. However, last week I just got a renewed Bolt in exchange for one that was damaged and paid $49. If I had known about this deal it would have been better for me to just buy a new one and keep my old one (it was more or less working okay - only one issue). Any thoughts on how I could get the $99 plan?

The $99 deal was from 2017 Black Friday.

Good thing I just saw this thread!

I got the Whiteout sale last year also and got both emails as the OP. In mid-November, I talked to Customer Service and told them my plan was for the $99.99 and they told me the correct renewal rate for my plan is $149.99 and they can't do anything about it. I also got charged the $149.99 and haven't gotten a refund. I'll call again tomorrow to complain. Very disappointing from Tivo and their Customer Service as they blatantly refused to honor what I signed up for.

I went through the same B.S. with regular support. Contact corporate management. Contact the Executive Relations Team

If you got the 9.99 deal last year, double check your credit card, you might be getting charged 14.99 + tax now

Well, looks like they didn't fix that "configuration error" yet - just got this year's email that renewal will be $149 (not the $99 Whiteout sale price). Anyway, with Tivo adding commercials to recordings, even $99 might not be a deal anymore...

Open a support case and demand that they honor it. They gave me a bunch of crap too. I ended up contacting Tivo Ted

Update: I opened the support case and got an email telling me that the email they sent with the higher price was a error and not to worry. I should have worried since they just charged my credit card the $149.99 rather that the $99.99 as promised. I am ready to file a credit card dispute, cancel all my Tivos and cut the cord - I don't know why this company can't get it's act together...
