I'm trying to transfer a 4K movie 15gig from PC to my bolt using PyTivo. I'm not sure if the file size is to large or if I need to change the format?
File format is 4K UHD 2160P
When I try to transfer the file it starts the transfer but stops I can see the title in my NPL but that's it.
is the problem a file size limit with Tivo?

Please provide specifics of file transferred ie container and codecs, and what tivo shows for the file in your now playing list. IE resolution, file size etc from info screen. Also any information you can provide from the pytivo transfer log would be helpful. Need to see what is actually happening as you are the only one reporting this. There is either something new here (hopeful) or you are misunderstanding what is going on.

If you hit "info" when it's playing what resolution does the info screen show?

I downloaded some sample 4K content and tried transferring it I had the same experience as the OP.

Please give specifics. If true, many others are interested in what allowed it to work.

It's no trouble to transfer them... if you don't mind them being downrezzed and reencoded.

I guess I keep hoping a small hole will open up in the impenetrable armor and a bus can be shoved through.....hope springs eternal.

Until 4k video can be transferred to the tivo, it will never really handle it well. None of the streaming options for 4k HDR really work well. Certainly not Plex.

My recollection was that native transfer/playback of MP4s came from the fact that I think Amazon Unbox (which at the time was downloads) started using MP4 format.
