All I can say is.... JACK IS BACK!!!!

Man, I miss 24 so much. It's seems like longer than 4 years!!

Yes, I understand it's still the same formula, and the drone hacker story is unoriginal. But this is 24, so I expect a plot shift in about 3-4 episodes.

As much as I adore Yvonne S., I think she's a little bit too skinny to be a FIELD agent. As a desk analyst, I can believe.

And once again, there's a tech expert in a major intelligence agency that can hack his/her way around normal protocols. I expect him to die, like all the others (except for our beloved Chloe, of course).

I'm loving it so far! It was so great to see Jack back in action. I agree that Yvonne seems miscast. I loved her in Chuck, and she was fine in Dexter, but I'm not sure she's the right actress for this role. It's such a high energy show, and she almost seems too sedate compared to the other actors.

I love it! The Jack is back, kicking ass! Low on originality, but very high on action, and plain old kick-assery! I kept yelling at that boss, "You idiot, don't you realize that girl is the only one who's figured out what's going on!" :D

Really enjoyed it. However, even though I knew it wouldn't happen, I did spend the entire episode hoping Chloe would catch a bullet so we could be done with her.

As crazy and unrealistic as ever! I love it!

If I was that pilot, I would have said "Then why would I call him and warn him?"

Well then you are doomed because it will somehow slip through a crack and get away from you. :)

I should have recapped myself on the past seasons. I remember characters but don't remember a lot of particulars about plot points.

It's funny, the first hour they tried really hard to say, "look, we've invigorated 24, and tweaked the formula, plus learned from our mistakes!" Then in the 2nd hour, went ahead and made the same mistakes, down to the "it's self destructing" animated screen.

All that said, it's still 24, and what makes it good still remains. They're also letting Keifer leave his tattoos uncovered, which he's gotta be happy about. He spent most of 10 years wearing long sleeves or having them covered in makeup if his shirt was off.

Heller must have a great cabinet, Palmer's pulled the "you're unfit for office" card much earlier than this.

I suspect that somewhere towards the middle, Jack will hop on a plane and we'll skip a long period of time. Or perhaps he'll have a bout of diarrhea, or even go to bed for the night. Interesting that with the cold opening, "the following takes place" started at 6 minutes after, and that they explicitly said the first hour was realtime, but didn't in the 2nd hour.

At any rate, Jack's back, and I'm happy.

That's what so great about the show. It doesn't even make an effort to be realistic. You can just shut your mind off and enjoy the ride. It's pure escapism at its best!

He has no proof of that... the guy on the other end just kept saying "What??" Any proof he might have probably got erased anyway.

That final phone call between the "girlfriend" and the "buyer" was creepy beyond belief, which is par for the course on 24. :) And a knife in the ear? Yikes, then they showed us the result.

    Has Jack killed anyone yet?

It's good to see they aren't trying to inject any level of intelligence or believability into the script - just go with what works :)

Sure. Didn't you see the screen of confirmed kills? That was my favorite part. :)

I also love the fact that they didn't bother to give random bad guys last names.

    :up::up::up:

Of COURSE Chloe's annoying. She's probably the most realistic part of 24, that's why I love her character so much. She's just about every engineer/hacker/programmer I've ever known.

They all seemed to be writhing on the floor, not yet dead. :)

I mean since he's resurfaced, in the last hour and 54 minutes. :)
