Both the female CDC doc and Agent Freckles had quite the reaction to the shirtless Jack.

I guess it's true what they say, chicks dig scars. :D

Jack is so going to get some of Agent Freckles. Well, unless he dies first.

That was a very well done misdirect on Jack being infected, btw. The scene where they let him out of quarantine and show him the results really had me thinking that he was in the clear.

It was a much better job of misdirection than the fake mole gambit was, I thought.

Pres's daughter is SO evil and in on it.

I mean, she escaped Jericho and came back to DC, so she's gotta be sinister, right?

ETA: She picked Aaron so he can take the fall later as he has a checkered past.

Edited to remove my stupidity. What time of day did the show start? I could have sworn it was 8am, Jack was testifying.

So then if someone's never seen Happy Days, they shouldn't be expected to understand "jump the shark"? I think at this point, everyone knows what a redshirt is.

I think she'll set him up, but I doubt he'll take the fall. He's too well-liked a character. That said, so was President Palmer. ;)

Actually it was moments before that-- my wife picked up the first "clue" -- when the CDC chick opened the glass door to where Jack was in quarantine to hand him the results; and she didn't have any gear on either.

My guess is that Aaron will be the one to expose her.

I think Jump the Shark is more of a pop culture term than redshirt is. I've never heard anyone outside of this forum, be it on radio or TV use the term redshirt for some throw away character to be killed off a show, while I've heard "Jump the Shark" numerous times. And I think that most people who use Jump the Shark don't even realize where the phrase comes from. But point taken, I'll add redshirt to my venacular.

Redshirt is what they do to college freshmen athletes who aren't quite ripe and ready for college ball.

You have led a sheltered life ;)

Seriously, Red Shirt is pretty darned well known. Just because you weren't aware of the term doesn't mean it wasn't, nor that many people didn't know where it came from. Heck, more people probably recognize where Red Shirt originated than would recognize where jump the shark came from, but ... that doesn't mean that Jump the Shark isn't more well known now (thanks to serious amounts of over use).

Outside of shows like 24 and Trek, you don't encounter the Red Shirt term all that much because no other shows are quite as obvious about having disposable characters.

Actually, when I think Red Shirt, I think of Red Shirt Freshman in college football, or the Red Shirt IS the QB during practice. But anyway, I guess it depends on your circle of friends huh? In my case, JTS is more common than RS.

Considering the show was written by Manny Coto and Brannon Braga, and introduced a character called Rick Berman, I think an occasional trek reference is not only acceptable, but pretty much mandatory.

Reading this thread makes me realize how completely silly this show is. I can't stop watching but it is pretty silly.

I didn't see it coming until he & Tony got to the place & reported to the choppers. Then I started thinking that it was a ruse.

There is one thing though. I'm assuming that he was told to buy time and keep the Feds as far away from the real warehouse as possible. Why do I get the feeling that asking for immunity was his own idea? If it is, this is the best a$$ covering move I've seen in a long time. Provided that the immunity (signed by the President no less) is still valid.

He did what he was told, so his boss is happy. If all goes well, he'll get rewarded by the United States of Starkwood. If the plan goes up the spout, he's not going to jail for treason, murder, and sundry other crimes.

Oh, Trek references are fine. But when I see Brannon Braga's name come up, it makes me cringe every time, since he and Berman ran Star Trek into the ground. So then to name a character Rick Berman only tells me that they're going to run 24 into the ground.

Where was the sat imagery with infrared? They always manage to find uses for it at CTU. Would have been perfect for finding the Bioweapon.
