Just noticed that TiVo plus is displaying its channels in the guide. Not sure if it was in the previous version!

I had the crappy TiVo+ show up this afternoon. I now have this new software too after restarting things a while ago. I had powered things off during some storms this evening.

I also have pre roll ads now on some dvr recordings and a black screen before other dvr recordings start. I’ll be calling to get that crap removed tomorrow.

My Bolt has the ads in the guide. My Roamio is clean.

I'm still on TE3 and free of TiVo+. Do you mean the each of the many TiVo+ channels now shows up in the TE4 Guide throughout the full course of the day? Isn't that kinda huge?

Same here. Already emailed TiVo lambasting the practice and asking if there is an opt out.

It reduces the number of channels that can be viewed in the guide at one time by hogging the bottom row. And with just about every page flip of the guide, the ad changes to another channel ad. It’s actually annoyingly distracting, to a point.

Honestly, I got TiVo in the first place to not only get better functionality but to also get AWAY FROM cr@p like these ads.

Now I feel like TiVo is my cable company version 2.0.

I emailed them this morning after it showed up on my Bolt last night. Pretty much stating the same thing, that I spent thousands of dollars on 5 Tivos with lifetime service and 5 minis to get avoid advertising, not have Tivo shove more of it at me.

This was the reply I got.

We understand that you would like to opt out from those Adds. You may see an advertisement before your recording begins. TiVo lets you easily skip these advertisements using the ‘Skip’, ‘OK’ or ‘Fast Forward’ buttons on your remote control and the TiVo+ content is included with your TiVo subscription that allows you to bring this content to TiVo users at no additional charge.

I've now replied again, asking them to confirm that they are adding all my devices to the OPT OUT list. I've yet to hear back. I imagine, I'll have to waste more of my time with their phone support next.

Got the guide ads today - are they really trying to get rid of their customers? With everything else going on in the entertainment world you would think they'd do what they can to please their customers rather than tick them off.
Will be looking at options since I assume more garbage is coming

In the scheme of things, opting out of pre-roll ads and a crappy TiVo+ are relatively minor annoyances in my book. I still don't really think there is a viable alternative. What would make it for me is the next time my 3TB Bolt dies (and it will die), TiVo will sell me an Edge at a reasonable price and let me transfer my lifetime service to it gratis.

Finally got thru and had to repeat myself 3 times that I wanted to Opt Out. They kept pushing the line to just skip them or fast forward past them and it was free as part of the Tivo subscription. Finally got the, well I see an option to opt you out on your devices and it will take 48-72 hrs.

We will see now if it happens. I may finally just bite the bullet and revert to TE3 and let the devices die a dignified death.

I requested the “opt-out” several days ago for the pre-recorded ads because it caused an issue with one of my recordings the first time it showed up on my box. I haven’t seen any more since the change was made to my account. Today my box was upgraded to the 21.9.6v.5 software version and I see the new guide changes with the extra TiVo+ lines. Was the “opt-out” supposed to also cover the guide change or only the pre-recording ads? If they are separate, can we also opt out of the guide change?

From what I’ve read here you can’t opt out of the TiVo plus in the guide (unless that recently changed)
