Hmm I don’t ever worry about releasing my tuners but I swear before I was able to toggle my mini video window on/off/on/off all the time without losing video.

But maybe that was just on my Roamio or a recording.

But regardless, this is different than just losing the video in the window. It also loses live tv when trying to exit the menus entirely. When you go back to the channel, it’s just black. Worse, from the Home screen it would t let me hit Live TV at all (“can’t play now” error). I could only get to tv from the guide, from the Home screen, and even then I had to change channels to get the picture back.

Since you never got it, I wouldn't worry about it. They aren't taking anymore signups for "early adopters", and so far, each new version has only gone to those who already have it. Which is why others, who don't have it, have complained about it taking so long.

To the extent I understand your description, I'm not seeing this behavior.

I'm not having this issue on any of my 6 minis.

Can we rename this thread 21.9.1.x so that all future minor releases will be posted in one thread? :/

I can duplicate your problem on my Mini VOX, but I am going to wait until v99 is released until I start to figure out how all this should work. It's not worth my time to document or troubleshoot the issues. I'm happy with my TE3 Mini use. Like you said, maybe it's just my Roamio.

I'll go with that if previous releases are included.

Funny, I just read this and was in the process of turning on my TiVo. I thought I would check version numbers and low and behold pending restart was there. I also was on 21.9.1.v6. Now I am on 21.9.1.v8

Has anyone noticed V53 errors when tuning to some SDV channels? I haven’t had any issues for ages until recently updating to 21.9.1. I then must hit channel up then channel down in order to tune to the offending channel.

Bolt just went to 21.9.1v8, minis are still on 21.8. Not sure why they won’t update. Need auto skip on them!
V6 and V8 both seem to operate fine so far. What is with the strategy of no more thumbs up and down?

I kind of like a new one for each because it tells me it is here. I don’t always go to threads that last a long time.

Curious, why would you ever want to toggle the video window? I honestly don’t see the use for it other than it apparently now immediately releases the tuner. Now if there wasn’t a User Preference setting I’d understand.
Anytime I see crazy behavior with electronics I pull the power cord. Let the Minis and Roamio sit 30 secs and then plug them back in. A software-only reboot won’t fix hardware being in a bad state.

Six mini's, wow they should be giving you a share in the company. :)

Maybe after the final release, they can all be merged. But for now, I think the individual threads is working better.

I use it whenever I fire up the Tivo and realize that the video window is showing something that is recording and potentially would spoil that recording--especially sports. Another usage is when the video window is playing something that makes my teeth hurt.

I don't turn it off full time with user preference setting because there are many times when I want to keep viewing the video while doing something with the menus like checking ToDo or wishlists, etc.

I prefer separate threads since problem/issue reports should be posted to the thread associated with the version in-use.

I think toggling the view window on/off is a GREAT way to release a tuner - much more intuitive than the old way of hitting the TiVo button. It just makes sense that if it is not playing, it is not using a tuner.

If I go into the menus while watching some shows I’ll keep the window open, other shows - where I’m paying more attention, I’ll close the window to pause the show.

Sometimes I go into the menus to do something quick while watching a show so I’ll keep the window open. Other times I’ll be doing something more lengthy so I’ll close the window so I can focus on my show when I’m done.

I toggle the window all the time.

Say I’m watching a show live, I go into the menus and close the window so I don’t have to listen to commercials. Closing the window would release the tuner?

Then I finish using the menus and go back to live tv. But I’ve missed the show returning from the commercial break so I try to rewind but can’t because I lost the tuner.

That would happen to me very often.

Idk maybe my use is different but I’ve not once ever worried about releasing a tuner. I have a mini and a 6 tuner Roamio and am the only one watching the units.

I'm still on 21.8.3.RC4 on my Bolt Vox OTA. Tivo hasn't been helpful advising if I'll get the latest release. I've tried forcing connections, still nothing coming down
