My auto record for "2014 World Series of Poker" has picked up two episodes on ESPN Tuesday, July 15th at 9:00 ET/8:00 CT (two consecutive one-hour shows).

These are titled "National Championship, Part 1" and "National Championship, Part 2".

If you are a WSOP fan, the fun is about to begin.

Make sure you have room on your DVR(s) for BOTH World Series broadcasts that Tuesday night (baseball and poker)!:up:

The MLB world series is in October. The All-Star Game is on July 15. Slight difference. :)

I just KNEW there was a definite down side to posting something like that at 3:00 in the morning! And the All-Star game is practically in my back yard! Point deducted for that fail.

The main event, event #65, starts later today with a guarantee of $10 million for first place.

I thought I read that they will be premiering the regular WSOP ME episodes on Sunday nights thus year.

The National Championship is the culmination of the WSOP circuit events IIRC. (That these will be on Tuesdays doesn't necessarily contradict my statement.)

Anyway thanks for the heads up.

No, no, the main event starts with hundreds of players. It will not be heads up for quite a while! ;)

Such a waste to televise the National Championship. Its kind of a nothing tournament that nobody really cares about. Would much rather have more of the main.

They already nowadays have the main event be the VAST majority of the episodes.

    Holy crap! Sickest beat ever!!!

The event is the "Big One for One Drop", a charity tournament with a $1 MILLION buy-in (11.1% of the buyins go to a charity called One Drop, that works to provide drinking water to places in the world that don't have much of it). 42 players, top prize of about $15 million.

    And then this happened:

Did you notice that Katz asked Drinan to just chop it and Drinan seemed to ignore him?

I would always chop in that situation. Drinan screwed himself.

I would not be surprised if tournament rules don't allow chopping and Katz was just joking.

Could be. I don't know if the tourny rules allowed chopping.

I would guess no chopping. It's rarely ever allowed in a tourney. Cash games, sure. But not a tourney ... not unless you are chopping the winnings at the end.

He was kidding. You can't chop a hand in a tournament.

Woah, nothing from August 12 to Sept 28? Are there WAY fewer episodes this year?

Just finished The Big One for One Drop. Fun tournament. Kid Poker sure is looking old!

I'm bummed that the only other event they are televising is The Main Event. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep for being spoiled for the November 9. The last few years I've managed to avoid spoilers and it has really improved my enjoyment of the weekly episodes.

When they broadcast, hopefully the SAP channel will have everything except Norman Chad.

Well, I think the name obviously is not apropos anymore, but I guess I can't picture him as "looking old".. At least not really old how I expect that term to mean.
