Philip Seymour Hoffman won Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for Capote

Now personally I think I'd rather have seen Heath Ledger win this category, though I've heard good things about Capote and will see it eventually.

I would say Hoffman winning was the biggest major surprise of the night. The movie has been getting great reviews but I don't think anyone considered him as a legit contender to Ledger.

Really? Everything I've read and seen had Hoffman as the favorite.

Anybody notice Drew Barrymore's top was rather see-thru?

You could tell the exact moment that the director noticed, because that's when the camera started discreetly zooming in for a tighter shot so that her breasts would be off-screen. :D

I've always liked how you can hear silverware and dishes clanking during the winner's speeches. It always reminds me of Kevin Kline doing dinner theatre to retired folk in "Soapdish."

I wasn't able to watch since i'm still at work, frozen in awe of the pictures of Scarlet Johannsen. Work is only 10 hours away, so might as well just stay :D

Props to Mary Louise Parker for taking on the Housewives and winning.

I figured she was a shoo-in since the Houswives vote was going to get split 4 ways.

Kind of on topic but there is a lot of uproar about Isaac Mizrahi on the red carpet for E!. A lot of people are mad because he was asking women about their underwear and feeling them up. Also he asked Eva Longoria about shaving habits if you know what I mean.

Was it really Isaac Mizrahi or that guy from MTV Buzzkill that looks like Isaac Mizrahi?

Cause that would be funny. :)

It was really him. I didn't see any of the E! coverage (cause it was on a Monday and because I was at work all day here in L.A.), but I read the same report this morning in USA Today.

It was interesting to say the least.

Steve Carrell and Mary Louise Parker winning was great, great, great.

Desperate Housewives winning a comedy award was not, not, not.
