2 series2 tivos(not directTV) one TV. How does remote differenciate

    Hi. I have regular cable. I wanna hook 2 series 2's to my capable TV. How does the remote differenciate between the two boxes? Thanks in advance for your help. I love this Country! People helpin people.

    And if you just have the regular Tivo peanut remote, the options are 1 and 2 (0 means ALL numbers work).

    You can do more than 1 and 2 with the old remote. You just hold tivo-pause until it blinks (or just the light turns on, I forget), and hit a number key.

    Why do people think that a switch labeled DVR 1 - 2 is limited to using IR codes 1 and 2 when there are 7 other codes (other than 0)? The switch is for conrtroling DVR #1 which can be set to any code (1-9) and for controling DVR #2 which can also be set to any of the 9 codes.
