    Hey guys

I upgraded the stock Premiere drive to a 1TB Seagate 7200.12 Barracuda that I had lying around about 4 months ago. I have since come to hate it as the drive is loud as fack and is driving me insane. I have another WD Green 500GB that I would like to use in it's place. I know that the directions say to use a larger drive but will the 500GB work?

Do you still have the "original Tivo hard drive" that came with the Tivo?

If so, then just use the same procedure(JMFS?) to clone the drive to the 500 GB drive.

You can't go back from a 1Tb to a 500Gb and save your recordings, you must start from the original 320Gb TP disk than go to your 500Gb disk OR for not much money you can purchase a 1Tb drive and try a direct copy, that will save you recordings BUT if your new drive is 1 bite or more smaller (bigger is no problem) than your 1TB master, that will not work, and there is no easy way to tell in advance. You can spring for a 1.5Tb drive and know you will have no problems in the direct copy (you will not get any extra record space).
