Ok, if this has been addressed, I'm sorry, I really did search before posting.

I have a Western Digital My DVR 1 TB Expander(WD10000F032) that had a failed hard drive. I opened it up and replaced it with another WD 1 TB drive model WD10EVCS. The TiVo boots, sees the drive then tells me the drive is unsupported. The drive model that came out of the expander is WD10EVVS. I feel like all I need to do is format the new drive, *but when I read I find conflicting information on if the TiVo should format the drive for me or not. Any help would me much appreciated. I am running a TiVo Premier.

The enclosure (WD10000F032) has nada to do with the drive. You replaced a supported drive (WD10EVVS) with an unsupported drive (WD10EVCS).

If you can get a RMA for the original Expander and drive that might work.
