Once the marathon ends, the FXX plan appears to be, 3-4 hours per day on weekdays (except Wednesday, apparently because of a primetime movie block), starting with both Season 1 and Season 21 (the first all-HD season, IIRC), and a themed marathon on Sunday (9/7 will be all Sideshow Bob episodes)

I could see someday, once the show is off the air, launching a 24 hour channel. That of course assumes that the show will ever go off the air. :)

Also, I think it would be smart to do the marathon every 2 years during the Olympics. Most networks just give up and don't even make an effort to counter program the Olympics, so I think it would pay off.

I just spent the past 3 days/2 nights in the hospital. No digital cable. FXX is on channel 67 here. My hospital TV went to channel 62. SO CLOSE!

The app is going to have everything in it. Not sure why there would need to be a channel.

Sometimes when I want to kill some time while eating lunch or dinner I can always just tune into the Simpsons channel and be entertained. I don't want to have to fire up the app and then choose an episode.

Believe it or not, the vast majority of Americans get the majority of their tv from linear channels, not apps.

Watching some of this marathon here and there reminds me how much I love the Treehouse of Horror Halloween themed episodes.

380 eps saved on my Tivo. Don't know if I'll be able to get them all.

Translation: we started a new channel and had nothing to put on it. But thanks for the sub fees.

And now they're thanking God for the Simpsons. Did you see the ratings for the marathon? Wow:

The FXX weekday episodes started with Seasons 1 and 21 (and air in order), although all of the Halloween (Treehouse of Horror) episodes, as well as the Christmas Special, did not air. I read somewhere that FXX will air all of the Halloween episodes back-to-back, presumably on 10/31.

Sundays are reserved for themes; 9/7 was Sideshow Bob, 9/14 will be Lisa, and I think 9/21 will be Bart, although the last episode listed is "The Book Job" which doesn't really have a "standout" role for Bart.
