As far as I remember, 4K Mini said "do you want to downgrade?". Now I understand it meant " downgrade to TE3" because 4K Mini had TE4 by default....

Yes, this was via TiVo Online, the only method available with Hydra aka TE4. Updated to TE4 because new 4K Mini demanded that.
