Hello.

Does anyone know if you can bundle Comcast(Xfinity) Business Internet bundle with residential TV service?

In the past, comcast has required a commercially zone location for business internet however perhaps due to the coronavirus and people working from home, teleconferencing, etc... It seem they are allowing Business Internet as home now.

However my problem is that normally I bundle TV and Internet together to make them cheaper.

Normally if you get one without the other, its like 80% of the cost of having the both.

Wondering if maybe someone here has this business internet at home with TV and can let me know how this situation works.

Thanks .

You can have business HSI and residential TV at the same address, but you cannot bundle them (basically just two services at the same address, although due to Comcast's systems, one of them may need to have an address of something like "ADDRESS #OFFICE" vs. "ADDRESS" for the residential service (two addresses alike but different is also the way to have two or more residential services at an address). And while one may be able add business TV, it does has a number of location limitations/requirements that may make it not possible to add to a residential location nor with all the content one may wish.

What is the reason one is looking at business HSI?

I tried to do this about a year ago and was not able to. While I was able to get business class internet at my home, they told me since they are essentially two different departments, they can’t “bundle” it. You would have to get a business account for their business internet. Then contact their regular dept to hook up residential tv service.

Here is the logic. For a regular business, you can get internet and tv together. They told me they can’t do this for a home though cause there are different tv rights/fees for their business tv service. Business tv is looked at and potentially gonna be viewed by numerous different other people. Therefore the reason for different fees and This is why they wouldn’t even allow me to get it bundled at my home.

I was originally looking into business internet cause of no data caps. If this is why you want it as well, their residential internet now has a no data cap option for $25 more per month (and includes their new modem rental as well)

We've never had data caps here in Maryland, but they will start in February. A day ago I got an email from Xfinity saying my Super+ More package includes unlimited data.

It may be cheaper to upgrade your Xfinity package to one that includes unlimited data rather than pay the $30/month for unlimited data.

Ours is not bundled, but we have both services coming in on a single cable line. We have one account for Comcast/Xfinity just for television service, and a separate account for Comcast Business internet. Roommate had been running a web server and needed a range of fixed IP addresses. I feel like we did get a boost in speeds, and maybe a bit more response when we need to call in a service issue. We're not in a business zone, just a regular residential street of rental duplex houses; roommate is not running a business, just doing it as a hobby.

We had financial reasons to keep the billing separate, but still get occasional sales calls trying to get us to bundle. As soon as I say we need the static IP, they say that rules out the bundle.

The bandwidth caps are absolution killing me and I do use my technically use my internet connection for business as well.

Also as a side note, residential Internet normally has upload speed a very low rated vs the download speed whereas business is usually much faster. For example, if you were trying to upload backup data to the cloud storage or photos to Google photos, this could benefit from a faster upload speed. Normally home speed is almost nonexistent and just there to request information to be downloaded.

They've dropped prices. When I last contacted them, 1gig service was at a special of $249/month for 2 years and then went to something ridiculous like $500/month.

When did they lower the price? Certainly more appealing now. How does one transition, just call them up and they switch your residential service to business or do they need to roll a truck?

I do not want the Static IP address nor do I care for them. In fact, I would actually prefer my IP address to be a moving target or anyone trying to hack or spy on me.

I actually did try to get a separate connection from a roommate a number of years ago and Comcast told me that everyone at the address had to be under a single account.

Maybe they change this or the rep I was speaking to did not know what they were talking about.

Just Today I was told by a comcast rep that you could only view the cloud DVR from Comcast owned equipment leased to the customer and right afterwards was able to login my ROKU device and view and record from Comcast Cloud DVR server when I signed in my account using their app/channel. The Comcast reps seem to be poorly trained and not know how things work but will tell you with 100% confidence the wrong information.

In any event, you are basically paying full price for your Cable TV and full price for your Internet without taking advantage of any savings of having both services.

Comcast business and Comcast home are 2 different department and promotion can't be crossed between the two is what I think I'm hearing from the comments here.

In another forum, it was recommended I get the faster business internet and try to work with the Streaming Apps to handle the Live TV thing.

What do you think?

I did this a few years ago because my company only wanted the internet/phone on the receipt submitted for Reimb. They had to create a business account like my last name with a business name to create the business account. So they called it "mylastname office".
Well guess what happened. That fake business name went to every database in the world, and my phone starting ringing off the hook because everyone thought I was a office supply house. It went into every phone directory. I had to change my number because of it.
They can't bundle residential and business together. You can have both but you will have 2 accounts.
So be careful. I eventually canceled it.

Comcast has sold you out by selling your private information to these various business to business directories. Comcast never will miss an opportunity to take even more of your hard earned money. They will lie, cheat and steal to do it . I remember when they said the government forced them to make people use CableBoxes. Untrue. They wanted to make money off the lease so they started encrypting channels and telling people that TV had no ability to receive digital signal.

Oh, they also have hired the children of politicians and paid them " consulting fees" aka bribes.

In any event, the rep I spoke to said it was common for people who have business internet but home TV however I guess there is no way that you will be getting any discount from combining these 2 services with Comcast.

I once had a comcast employee tell me that every person at a dorm or apartment building all had to use a single account and if that one person was not paid up, then no one in the location could get service.

I know back in March, I called to find out how to upgrade my Comcast internet. The best they'd offer me was Gig down, but only 40 Mbps up. I never even thought to ask about Business speeds. The 40Mbps upload really does put a hamper on my getting show material up to our shared media server service. Getting media down has been great at Gig speed. The upgrade to Gig speed is only costing me an additional $30/month. I'm phytologically writing that off in my mind against my not having commuting costs.

Fortunately in a way this has worked for me. It allowed me to assign the longer tedious work of completing full story segments to my co-worker who has FIOS Gig speed in both directions, as I do the more creative and complicated shorter elements, which parallels the way we work when we are in our production facility.
