Question Old TivoHD drive in new enclosure -- shows readable?

Pretty sure I know this answer to this in advance but thought I would check it out:

Just replaced a dead TivoHD with a new Roamio Plus, wondering if there was any way to salvage shows from the old hard drive? I just opened up the HD box and there's no apparent damage to the power supply so I'm thinking it's a bad motherboard; regardless, if I boot up the hard drive on a computer will I be able to pull off any of the old shows and play them back on the Roamio somehow? I assume an external SATA enclosure will not be readable by the Roamio itself, correct?

No. TiVo uses a custom file system and encodes the shows on the disk (or at least encodes some of the file system block info needed to decode the shows.) You'd have to do something with the dead TiVo motherboard to get at the shows, I believe.

The blinking green light appears to be the CPU indicating there's bad RAM. You might be able to warm the RAM with a hot air gun and get it to boot. Once it's booted, it may keep itself warm enough that it continues to work. Take that time to transfer your old shows.

I believe the RAM in question are the 4 chips to the left of the processor.
