Anyone watching The Wil Wheaton Project?

Just caught the first 2 episodes last night. Even though it looks like a ripoff of Web Soup which was another ripoff of The Soup I thought it was pretty funny.

I'm watching it.

I just wish my TiVo wouldn't record a dozen showings of the same episode.

I deleted my season pass because I couldn't stop the duplicates.

Just tell it to keep one episode max and keep until delete.

I set up a manual recording for that time and channel after seeing 22 episodes scheduled for the next 10 days.

Although it may get deleted next week. I think I'm a lot older than the target audience.

Yeah, then we don't get it watched in a timely manner and miss out on the second episode, then see something referred to in the third that we missed.
When I saw the number of episodes I simply decided it wasn't worth the trouble. If it turns out to be super mega good I'll find a way to catch up.
It's annoying that they don't address this in the guide data and I'm punishing them for their stupidity

Sounds like a problem that if you'd tweet Wil Wheaton, he would actively try to fix it.

....And I just looked up his twitter account and he has already tweeted that he knows about the DVR issue and is trying to get that cleared up.

I watched and didn't really care for the first episode. For one, the audience in the first episode seemed to be "primed," in that the laughter and applause seemed to be over the top/forced in many points, giving it a very "laugh track" feeling.

I started watching the second episode, and both Wil and the audience seemed better, but the problem was that I don't really watch a single thing that he was talking about, so I kind of gave up. I still have it, but I'm on the fence as to whether I will finish watching it.

I saw the first episode and enjoyed it. I've got the second one recorded but haven't watched it yet.

Just read Wil's blog and he is working on the multiple showings recording issue.

An ARWL setup with the Tupper method will record only the first airing of each new episode provided that there isn't a conflict. The original airing of each episode has no program description, but all of the repeats have "Wil wheaton dissects the week's popular topics across science fiction, film, television, and more." and it's very simple to eliminate eps with that description.

That's what I would do if I were setting up a SP for this show.

I watched some. I am just not watching most of these shows and movies he talks about. As mentioned, feels just like the various incarnations of "Soup". Nothing wrong with that. Just not all that original. Maybe if I was actually into all the shows and movies and stuff, I would enjoy it more.

Saw the first episode last week. It was OK. Maybe I'll schedule the second one to record. I didn't dislike it, and I do watch some of the shows he talked about, but it just didn't seem like anything essential. Maybe I'll record it just for background noise when I know I can't devote my full attention to something else.

I lasted 10 minutes into the first episode before deleting it for exactly this reason. I didn't find the jokes that funny anyway but the over-the-top reaction just magnified the problem.

I watched the first episode last night. Good filler when I'm waiting on my wife so we can watch something else. I laughed a few times.

I really like wil Wheaton but I watched the first two episodes and didn't think they were funny at all. SP sadly deleted.

I tried to watch it and bailed. I like Wil, but I'm not part of their target audience.

I'm just glad he's continuing to do Tabletop. I wonder if "Second Watch" (the Falling Skies aftershow) will continue this season, and if he will host.

I have enjoyed both episodes even though I am in my 60's. Loved the segment on movie knockoffs which actually is a problem for Redbox users who rent movies that are not what they thought they were.

I like Wheaten's writing, but on shows like this (and the Orphan Black special) he seems too "game show". The smile is a bit too wide, the laughs are a bit too loud. Almost like a parody.

I enjoy The Soup, and I don't watch ANY of the shows they joke about. I think I'll check out TWWP.

And that's the whole point of The Soup, they make fun of them so we don't have to watch them.

Now that I've seen the first 2 eps, I might check out more, but it is definitely NOT "must see" TV. Wheaton is a little TOO overenthusiastic in emoting.

Same here. I will give it another chance (I try to do at least 3 episodes for any new show I start watching), but if it is still meh, and with the guide annoyances, it is not looking good for this SP.
