Tuning Adapter firmware update (Charter)

My Motorola MTR700 tuning adapter in use with my cablecard/Roamio is firmware version 1.33. TiVo makes it clear you need 1.36 or later for 6 tuners (plus bug fixes). I am 5+ visits in with Charter, and even more phone calls. I have swapped the TA for a new one. No matter what, stays on 1.33. It is activated, and the CC is paired and working fine. They have remotely reset/provisioned it several times.

Most people of course don't even know what a TA is

Two friends in the area have 1.37 on theirs.

At my wits end trying to get Charter to sort this out. Any advice?

File a complaint with the FCC.

I'd recommend what tarheelblue32 says.

There are more than a few forum posts here from folks that got the run-around (like you), who then filed a FCC compliant, and then got a call from the cable company by someone that could actually help solve the problem.

I'm glad it all worked out for you. The new tuning adapter with updated firmware should make a noticeable improvement for you. When all else fails, a formal FCC complaint seems to be about the only thing that the cable companies will actually take somewhat seriously.
