Deleted folder empty

I noticed today that my deleted folder is empty. I only record OTA programs, CBS news did not record and when I went to see why It said it was deleted, then I went to the deleted folder and it was empty. We did record ABC news and deleted it and it was also not in the folder. Everything we recorded last night and deleted is also gone.

A few weeks ago I used a new image and expanded it to a 1tb hard drive, I did use the option to use the space the TIVO uses for pre recording suggested programs. I think everything has been working correct until now.

Anybody else?

Did you go into the To Do List and click on View Recording History and then select the CBS News and then use the right arrow on the remote to find out why it was deleted?

Your premier must be different than mine.
If I go to To Do List I cant see any history only To Do, If I go to The History I can see it was deleted, but If I right click on any deleted show it doesn't show any information why it was deleted, just the synopsizes and it isnt available for recording.
That doesn't explain why everything we watched last night is not in the deleted folder.

You might try using the "Info" button like it tells you to do on the right side of the screen.

The "View History" option doesn't exist in the HDUI "To Do List". Instead, it is one of the options under "Manage Recordings & OnePass".

You might should stop assuming things.
I did before and it says A recap of the days events tada tada etc. and under the box, not available to record, which every deleted program says. Not a word about why it was deleted nowhere. The same as ABC news says.
Like I said yours must be different, maybe a different software version? 20.6.1a.RC10-01-2-746

If you're replying to me, exactly what did I "assume"?

I was basing it on this:

That's the problem with email type communication.
However it doesn't change the fact there is no information why the show was deleted. Some say deleted by user, but that one doesn't.

I would still would like to know what happened to all my deleted shows also.

The problem is that what you describe is what you get when you right arrow on a History entry, not what you get with "Info".

Ok you win. "Did you go into the To Do List and click on View Recording History and then select the CBS News and then use the right arrow on the remote to find out why it was deleted?" This is what I tried.

That info message is always under the box with the show, I didn't know to press the INFO button on the remote. So it says the show was deleted earlier than planned because the space was needed for a new recording which makes no sense since I have 150 hours of HD space available. I learned something, thank you

Under "My Shows", what percentage does it show?

I just finished recording 2 1/2 hour shows and deleted them and they are showing up in the folder.

If you have suggestions turned on then I noticed that the DELETED folder usually stays empty and never really keeps much. Once I turned off suggestions then my DELETED folder kept everything that I deleted and I could go back and retrieve deleted shows.

When you have Suggestions on the Deleted folder empties within minutes, it's always been this way. i.e. if you accidentally delete something you can go in and retrieve it, but when the next suggestion starts recording the Deleted folder is empty, that's just the way it works.

The problem is that this is not relevant to the matter at hand. He has nothing in "My Shows" either.

I had to go through a complete new setup when I expanded the new image and turned off suggestions, I also set the drive to use that space. We did have things in my shows for the last 2 weeks and deleted them as we watched them but yesterday when I saw that one news cast did not record I went to check it and found it was deleted but the deleted folder was empty and no reason why it was deleted. So last night I recorded 3 shows and then deleted them and they are still in the deleted folder. So maybe its working now. Tonight will be a repeat of last night, the 2 news shows are set to record plus some other shows. Ill see what happens.

On another note my series 3 was also expanded to a 1tb drive and total reset and the front leds do not work correct. I had the clock set to bright but as soon as I leave the menu it goes back to dim. I tried everything. No big deal but strange.

I was replying to tMcDiddy, not the OP, no blood, no foul in my book.
*GASP* a TCF thread that went off-topic

I figured that but wasn't 100% sure, which is why I quoted both of you.

To the OP: when you go into System Info, what does it show for Recording Capacity and Free Disk Space?

Edit: And what s/w version?

Ok, Tonight Neither news recorded and when I went to the deleted folder the things I recorded last night were still there but tonight's news was NOT. I checked the History and it said deleted. Both of them, we also had another show set to record and it did not either we had to input it manually.

Strange going on's. I may have to call tivo.

You didn't by any chance use an image from another TiVo that hadn't been converted while this one had been so it's trying to use the new program information with old s/w?

It went like this. I back upped my image and in the process it got corrupted. So I obtained a new original image of this bbs. I then installed this new 340gb image and expanded it to the 1tb drive the old image was on.

I then went through the delete and setup routine. Then added all new season passes.
