Not much of an April Fools joke if they announce it like this. Love these guys, though, so I'll watch.

Craig does have to learn how to be a Game Show host.

Since they film episodes of TPIR weeks or months in advance, it's not like they would have been able to tape a show with Craig as host and a live audience and not have that get out before April 1.

Alex Trebek and Pat Sajak swapped hosting jobs for their April 1, 1997, episodes, and I don't recall hearing about it in advance -- but that was before the current "social media" era, so I guess the people in the audiences for those show tapings just kept it to themselves.

The guide data for TPIR says guest host Craig Ferguson and same thing goes for Late Late show..."guest host Drew Carey". Letting it out ahead of time is an April fools Fail.

Because certainly telling people ahead of time and risking getting increased viewership is a TERRIBLE idea.

I was wondering about that, since if it were the Tuesday night show, it would technically air on the morning of the 2nd.

Why? As a publicity stunt to garner extra viewership I'm sure it'll be successful. As an April Fool's Joke it's pretty horrible.

Thank you.

I was going to set my TiVo to record when I got home tonight.
Late Late starts at 11:35pm in these parts, so I would have assumed it was tomorrow he was hosting.
As I don't get home till after midnight tonight, I would have missed over half the show.

Off to TiVo.com to set the recording.

The Price Is Right is pretty funny with Craig and Geoff and Secretariat today. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I must say I was impressed with Craig-he did a good job. And all but one of his contestants won their games-which added to the fun-and the one who didn't win her game won the showcase-and a new car!

I agree, Geoff and the horse were quite amusing as well...Geoff's wigs cracked me up!

That's not on the coasts. The Late Late Show starts at 12:35 Eastern and Pacific, and at 11:35 Central and Mountain.

Neither are Nevada or (most of) Indiana, and yet those are places where "The Late Late Show" starts at 12:35.

Not sure what you mean by that but Indiana does DST now and most of the state is on Eastern time year round.

There are a few counties in the northeast and southwest corners that are on Central time because of the big city they are closer to.

When Indiana did not do DST, at least the Indianapolis stations delayed all pre-recorded shows so they were on the same time all year. Live shows did come on an hour earlier during DST though. Cable networks all aired an hour earlier too during DST.

The first contestant who got on stage during Craig's TPIR had a shirt that said Craig's name instead of Drew's. How could she have known about this in advance of the taping?

Nevada is in the Pacific time zone, and that is on the coast. And Indiana is it's own special brand of crazy, as already explained.

I would agree with that while Indiana did not do DST but that ended 5-6 years ago. Now the only thing that I would consider weird about Indiana clocks is a few counties on Central while the bulk of the state is on Eastern. But that would also include KY and TN which has the time zone line down the middle.

While they may not be affected by live sports, the only state I consider weird about time is AZ. They still don't do DST, except for the Navajo reservation. HI also does not do DST but they are not really part of this conversation.
