Why is Tivo.com so slow?

Every time I try to log in to Tivo.com to view my account, find shows, etc. the site is terribly SLOW. I'm on a high-speed connection and just tried to log in - 5 minutes so far and still not logged in.

It has been this way for as long as I can remember, so much so that I rarely even bother to go to the site any more as it is worthless.

NO excuse with technology today that Tivo cannot upgrade to faster servers or FIX these issues!!

Does a faster site cost more money ?? and how much more, I have found sites with fast downloads (like MS) and some sites with very slow download speed, but TiVo is one of the slowest sites I have seen, just to log in takes is 10X slower then the speed it takes me to log into say my bank. I just loged into the TiVo site, took about 32 sec, takes me about 3 sec for my bank.

Why is Tivo.com so slow?

Because it's TiVo! Does it really surprise anyone? I mean, look at how long it takes a Tivo to boot up. Must be a correlation there.

Not only is it slow, it's just plain DUMB at times if you try to do things.

Example, I'm at work and want to schedule a recording
I open the website in Firefox, after multiple attempts it will finally let me log in.
I go to the listings guide
I select the date, time, and channel I want to review, each step takes too long.
I then realize I'm on the wrong DVR, so I change the DVR to the one I want to record on
The site resets ALL the date, time, and channel info to "now"
I have to then go through selecting date, time, and channel again, all slowly.

There's just no reason for that.

True. From my computer room, I can click on Tivo.com bookmark, walk downstairs to my TV/Tivo, do whatever I was going to do on the Tivo, and make it back to the computer room before Tivo.com is ready for the next step (and I thought I was old and slow).

I do have an Android tablet. I downloaded the app for that and on my local network, it is pretty fast (about the same as doing direct on Tivo box). Apparently if you are "away" (or didn't get it properly linked on local network at first) it uses tivo.com and is dead slow.

For crying out loud, how many of these "TiVo.com web site is slow" threads do we need? Ugh...

Well, what we NEED is a "I tried tivo.com today and it was really FAST" thread. No joy, however.

Exclamation Excrutiating

BUT in my frustration I found the iPad app which is wicked fast and allows you to do things like Wishlist (mostly) that you can't do from the site. It also allows you to delete and season pass while watching the box live...and even if you aren't at the location.

but the site... I've tried with multiple browsers... it's not a selling point.

it's awful. they obviously have stopped supporting it. The only thing it's good for is copying season passes.

That's not saying much when using kmttg is so much better. Kmttg doesn't mess up the priority order.

With 6 tuners (priority order) does not matter to most of us.

Most people do not have a Roamio Plus or Pro, so most people don't have 6 tuners (on one tivo).
