Amazing Race spring 2014 "All stars" cast announced

The cast for the new season is now announced. Looks like a few to like and quite a few to hate.

http://www.cbs.com/shows/amazing_race/news/1001845/

Flight Time and Big Easy
Bopper and Mark
Jen and Caroline
Dave and Connor
Margie and Luke
Natalie and Nadiya
Brendon and Rachel
Jessica and John
Cord and Jet
Joey and Meghan
Leo and Jamal

I like the globetrotters, the cowboys, and somewhat team big brother. Really have had enough of Margie and Luke. Ugg. Also really could do without afganimals and twinnies.

For the first time in many seasons, I will NOT be watching. Couldn't stand many of those teams in their original races (and they lost for a reason). And I CERTAINLY wouldn't be able to tolerate them in this schtako...

Seems like a bunch of those teams would have been totally nondescript except for their being amazingly annoying.

I guess that's partly an audition for all-stars.

I have no idea who that Jessica/Joel couple is. I don't feel like I've seen them before.

From reading their bio on the link in the OP (and trying to remember!!!), I think they were the ones who had an Express Pass at the needle in a surfboard stack (so to speak) and the guy kept insisting he could find the right board, and they were eliminated in that leg with the Express Pass in their fanny pack.

I didn't realize they were both from Minnesota (my home state).

Glad to see Connor and Dave back. They seemed like a fairly strong team that was felled by an injury.

I think the need to rename this because sitting on your express pass while you lose a leg and are eliminated does not seem like all-star material to me.

It's pretty obvious the producers are scraping the barrel of previous participants who want to come back and would hold any interest with TAR viewers, I had to think about who Jessica/Joel couple were as well.

Exactly. That should have eliminated them from ever being able to compete on this show again.

Instead of the Afghanimals, I would have liked to see the football players come back (not that they were necc. all stars either).

"All-Stars" seems to be the TV euphemism for 'Do-over'. Project Runway is plagued with this as well. If I find myself saying during a regular season 'I never want to see that person again' it's a sure bet that some producer will think they're a great candidate for an All-Star season.

CBS' press release says that "in a dramatic twist, one team doesn't make it to the starting line". What happens is

Spoiler:
Mark and Bopper don't race together. Mark ends up racing with Mallory Irvin who was in seasons 17 and 18.

Agree!! Also Brendon and Rachel I could do without. They've had enough screen time between this and BB and Rachel makes me want to put a hammer to my head.

As I said when the rumors came out, this might be the first season of TAR I skip. Chances are I'll watch at the beginning, but this bunch has the potential to turn the annoyance factor up so high that for me it might be unwatchable.

Did we not know this a while ago? I certainly remember knowing that the Afghanimals were in it while the previous series was still running, so I knew they weren't going to win!

It was leaked earlier; now CBS is releasing the info.

I'm with most of you, not really looking forward to a season of mostly undeserving retreads but I'll watch

I'll admit, I'm a sucker for this show, mostly because I like the locales they visit and some of the places interest me from a tourist / cultural standpoint. The teams are usually secondary to me. But in this case, there's definitely too many annoying teams. I'll see how much I can stand before I quit. When Brachel was on BB the second time, I lasted about 2 weeks before I had enough. Unless they are really going to interesting places, I may not last as long.

I'll definitely be watching one way or the other.

I am one of the few who will admit they liked the twinnies. Yes, they could be annoying with their shouting but they seemed to be having fun, moreso than many of the other teams. They were also troopers when other teams faltered on some more difficult tasks.

I liked the twinnies. It's the cowboys I'm not happy to see returning. I went to school with too many just like those guys. Bad memories.
