No Audio Feedback on "Replay" or "Advance" Button

I have to Tivo Minis installed. On one I get Audio Feedback on the "Replay" and "Advance" Buttons on the other Tivo Mini I do not get any Audio ("Click") feedback. Where to I go to fix this so I do hear the "Clicks"? I do get audio "clicks" while navigating menus or lists on both Tivo Minis.

The sounds work in the menus on the mini because there is no active a/v stream with dolby audio on the mini when in the menus.

The sounds don't work when the video you're playing had Dolby Digital audio. If the Mini is connected to a TV and you don't care about DD audio you can go into the settings on the TiVo and set it to PCM output mode and it will play the sounds on all recordings.

Dan, this has been the situation since Series 3 and DD audio... But, any reason why the menu effects will not / can not work via DD?

It seems like this would have been something TiVo would have fixed by now if it were straight forward.

(Personally, I can't stand the sound effects and turn them off first thing)

TiVo would have to insert the sound effects into a DD stream, which would mean decoding it, adding the sounds, and then re-encoding it. The Dolby license doesn't allow for this, and it's probably too processor-intensive to do anyway (at least back in the Series 3 days.)

Licensing. As Arcady said they would need to encode the sounds into the DD stream which would require a much more expensive license.

One thing they could do is pass 6ch PCM over HDMI, like the XBox One does. Then they could insert their sounds just fine. They could even detect via EDID if the connected device supports 6ch or 2ch and adjust the current PCM setting automatically. In fact maybe they do. I haven't tried the PCM option in a long time. Someone should give that a test.
