Question Green light inside new roamio pro

I just recieved and set up a new roamio pro today. I just noticed that there's a green light coming from inside the unit. I can see it through what i assume is the windows for IR signals just to the right of the tivo symbol in the center of the front of the console. It also shines down through the vents just below there. I tried turning off the front panel lights and even unplugged the ethernet cable in back, in case it was light leaking from one of those, but the internal light remains.

Is this normal? Is there a way to turn it off? I find it very odd...

That's the power light....unless you are talking about the yellow light that flashes when it gets a remote command immediately to the right of the Green Power Light. Personally, I like having the yellow light that acts as visual feedback the remote command was received by the TiVo, especially if you are having an issue.

But, to each their own.

To Turn off all lights on the front:

TiVo Central
Settings & Messages
Settings
Displays
Lights on Front of TiVo Box
Turn off there.

The green light inside is normal. I have seen it on even with the front LEDs disabled on my Roamio Pro as well.

I have never seen a green light coming from my Roamio Pro.
Maybe it's the Mother Ship spying on you.

On a basic Roamio you can see a green LED whenever power is applied. Just look down. It's near the front. I won't worry unless it turns red.

If it bothers you, just cover it up or remove it.

Depending on where I sit in relation to the unit it's very noticeable, in fact shortly after I set it up I thought 'where the hell's that light coming from'? Once I verified what it was I was thinking how did that make it past QC? I keep the LED lights on the front panel on so I'm not light averse. Oh and if it did bother me, there's no way I'd put tape on the front of the unit to ghetto it up.

I'm not suggesting tape on the front. I'm suggesting inside or get out your snips or soldering iron.

I am light adverse. I painted a piece of cardboard flat black and covered the entire front.

The led is just a test or confirm light for testing circuit boards when building unit.

I just had my basic Roamio apart to change the hard drive. The "LED" seems to be part of the IR sensor. I saw no visible LED on the MB.

I seem to recall a thread about this when the Roamio first came out as well, but can't seem to find it now.
