Fox renewals

Fox just announced another set of renewals for next season:
The Following
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
New Girl
The Mindy Project
also, Fox announced that there will be a third season of Masterchef Junior (which has not aired its second season yet)

Fox had previously announced renewals for:
Sleepy Hollow
Bones (expected to be its final season)
Glee (executive producer Ryan Murphy says this will be its final season)
Bob's Burgers
The Simpsons
and I think Family Guy as well

Noticeably absent (for the moment, anyway - I suppose Fox needs something to announce at UpFronts): Dads, and Almost Human

The only two shows I know of that are not coming back are The X Factor and American Dad (the latter is moving to TBS).

Actually, these announcements were last Friday. I guess our common disdain for all things Fox is reflected in how long it takes for a thread like this to pop up....

What's sad is I used to keep up and watch several shows on FOX years ago (Simpsons/Family Guy). But I haven't watch anything on FOX in a number of years now. Nothing they offer really interests me anymore which is a shame, but again, probably the reason many networks struggle keeping customers, poor selection of shows overall.

Then again, perhaps renewal threads are not the most exciting thing on the forum and there was not a major media announcement to report

Actually, the main reason I posted it was not so much because of what was renewed, but because Almost Human was not on the list. Then again, it was a midseason replacement show, so maybe it's still a little early for Fox to make an official call on it. We'll know for sure in about 60 days.

I hate that TVByTheNumbers has Raising Hope & Almost Human as "Cancellation Predicted".

I understand Almost Human despite how much my wife and I enjoy it. But Raising Hope is awesome. One of the few shows we have kept up to date on season after season.

What did it replace? I watch so little on Fox, I couldn't begin to guess what shows are/were on at the beginning of this season (other than The Following which I dumped after three eps into S1)...

However, I WILL watch the reboot of "24"

Let Almost Human replace Bones. One I watched every episode and most times live, the other, I really liked for several seasons but now have only watched maybe two. Enough to show me nothing new has changed.

I like Raising Hope as well, but I kind of think they've run out of stories.

That's a misapplied generalization. You're tribe is in the minority. Also, you really have no stranding to speak on behalf of others.

I still watch the Sunday night animated shows on Fox. But looking at that list, that's about all the FOX shows I watch these days.

Even though I watch it (err, I think I have 5-6 on my Tivo and WILL watch them), "Dads" is REALLY BAD, and probably doesn't deserve being renewed! I'm happy that Mindy Project is renewed.. I thought it was getting HORRIBLE ratings.. It's a funny, semi-intelligent, likable show though.

It didn't really "replace" anything. (You could say it replaced The Mob Doctor, but I think Sleepy Hollow did that.) I suppose you could say, "It replaced whatever they usually aired at 8 PM on Fridays (which is where they temporarily moved Bones while Almost Human was on).

I asked because you said it was a "mid-season replacement"....

I guess I'm just used to using the term for shows that don't start in the fall (or in the summer).

I also still say that I "tape" shows on my TiVo...

Almost Human replaced Sleepy Hollow which only had a 13 episode order.

Watched Raising Hope with regularity last year, this year I may have watched the first episode only? I think it had limited shelf life but that has never stopped any shows about community colleges has it?

Yay for Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Mindy Project.

I bailed on New Girl this season. Can't stand Coach.

Not really. Sleepy Hollow finished it's run in January, but Almost Human started in November.

I still watch Bones (mostly while I surf the net), and would totally trade that for Almost Human. I think those are the only two shows I currently watch on Fox.

I have watched every single episode of Bones, but I am ready for it to go. I absolutely cannot stand the Bones character anymore. They have made her so mean and clueless about interpersonal relations. She has become a caricature of what she used to be.

No, Bones was a caricature from the first episode, never a real-seeming person.

"But it can't be cancelled yet - they need 12 more episodes to get the 100 needed for syndication (according to Everybody Who Claims That You Need 100 For Syndication So It Must Be True)!"
