The Blacklist S01E13 - The Cyprus Agency

Some random thoughts:

Meera broke to the guy interrogating her, but without visible torture signs. Wonder what happened. Clearly Red trusts his guy!

Red kills the AAG, and believes he can get away with it? That seems far-fetched, even for this series. But, maybe I'm underestimating Mr. Kaplan's capabilities

The adoption agency was an interesting twist -- instead of abducting kids, they just created a baby-factory based on genetic material.

The actor playing the bad guy, I believe, plays in Royal Pains too... interesting to see him in a different, but still eerily similar role.

Yeah, took me all night to remember where I've seen him before. Boris, rich Hamptons guy.

This is a crazy show. I know TV requires a suspension of belief but this one is pushing it a bit. A big bit.

Have we seen the girl with the lady cops boyfriend before? Note how I really have come to love these characters, know all their names, etc...

He's her husband, not her boyfriend.

The lady in the car was that shady lady that Red was looking up in the violent criminal database named Lucy, who then turned up at their baby shower in their bathroom as a substitute teacher from Tom's school named Jolene. And then he went to the art show with her when Lizzy stood him up for dinner.

So the story line around the Cyprus agency and Red and the office was awesome.

The story with Boone and husbandwife not so much, just get it out already, make him the hidden spy bad guy ugh.

But loved the Cyprus agency and scenes with Red closing the loop on the leak and taking care of business.

Boris as the crazy guy was awesome too

That would be why he brought in the Cleaner woman.
So he could get away with it.

AAG is a high profile enough position, I'd say that the cleaner has her work cut out for her.

When they show people who work on these crime shows, they always seem to work 24/7 and have no time to themselves. I don't think it would be a good idea for them to be parents. But really, aren't there weeks or even months when it's just ho hum at the office with nothing going on? I assume they can't go at the pace we see all the time, but they never mention that.

That wouldn't make a good tv show.

Wait, who is she? I presume you mean the woman at the end? I don't remember who she is nor what connection she has to the story...

She's the cleaner!

In the second episode of the two-parter, Red told Lizzy to contact Mr. Kaplan, who was this lady. After he got kidnapped and Lizzy found out about the spy house across the street from her and killed the guy in it, she called her, and she came over and cleaned it up and they organized a rescue effort for Red, where they ended up finding a bunch of surveillance info.

Truthfully, I think that Alda will know that Reddington killed her but he won't be able to prove it.

Personally, I'm a little shocked at how many bodies that Red has dropped after the hiatus. Don't mess with Red! Or screw him over!

So is Keen's husband done being a bad guy? Otherwise no chance he botches his mission (?) by being a whiny bitch about her not taking time off for the kid and then the dropped adoption or by cheating on his mark.

Or will this be one of those "Yeah, I married you as part of my mission, but :::sob::: then I fell in love with you" deals?

I think they've worked too hard to clear him for him to be innocent.

I just can't figure out what "guilty" means in this context.

Well, he's definitely on track to have an affair with Lucy/Jolene.

Red will probably some how make it known she was the mole and is now on the run. He has the document that pointed at her as the mole in the first place. I don't think he will hand this information over directly but make sure it is discovered.

I also don't understand how they were looking for the mothers of these kids but didn't notice that they all had the same father. Or did I miss that?

I also don't understand why there is any question if Red is Liz's father or not. You would think Liz would have his DNA and have it tested if she wanted to know.

Well, she just hasn't had time to think about it. They keep her very busy on the show, and of course no character ever thinks about or does anything when the show isn't on.

(One of my pet peeves. Things that a normal person would think about plenty in their downtime, TV characters never get around to. Writers never seem to imagine what their characters get up to between episodes, or even between scenes. I picture the directer yelling "CUT!", and the character freezes; roadies load her onto a two-wheeler and roll her to where the next scene takes place; days pass, and then they set up that next scene, the director yells "ACTION!", and the character comes back to life.)

I thought RED said something to the effect that Alda won't care too much if she's killed or something like that.

He also plays Peter Parker/Spiderman's father in the new Spiderman movies.

I've been seeing him pop up a lot more recently.

I have the impression that the writers did not know for certain whether he was good or bad when they first wrote him. Or if they did, they may have changed their minds. His treatment has been too inconsistent for him to have been planned as either good or bad. Kind of reminds me of a certain character on Grimm:
Spoiler:
Renard

Anyone know of a good place to catch up on Blacklist episodes?

I missed some episodes and don't want to be lost. Thanks.

Really needed to see a different shot from outside the house.

Red killer her in front of a huge picture window, leaving the drapes/blinds wide open.
Cleaner woman started cleaning with the drapes/blinds wide open.

Room must have been looking out over a forest with no neighbors in site.

Not to mention the unsilenced gunshots.

IF he has a "mission", we don't know what it is or on whose behalf he's performing it.

And it probably won't be until about a year or so from now that the writers will know either.

Am I the only one who's noticed that as Spader has aged/been made up for this show, he's starting to look like the older Ray Milland?

And I'm disappointed to see Jane Alexander depart the series so soon.

Anyone think The Cleaner is actually Reddington's mother?

Oh! She's been in 3-4 episodes... she's the "Head of Criminal Division of the Department of Justice" according to the Wikipedia. We see her when the government bigwigs have their clandestine meetings and such.
