Question Keyboard for Tivo Humax DVD??

Help! I volunteered to convert the in-laws VHS tapes to DVDs. I'm using my old Humax Tivo Series 2 to record the tapes and burn the DVDs. Using the remote control to laboriously tap out titles is getting old. Does anyone know if the Tivo Slide remotes work with an old Series 2? If not, is there ANY other way to get some keyboard functionality on a Series 2 to make typing titles easier?

No, not that I know of, but I have a bunch of Humaxes so would love to know if you find out a way.
My Poloraid DVR/DVD also had the same problem. I don't know if the newest HD DVD/DVRs have a better method.

A wireless keyboard that uses a receiver that plugs into a USB port might provide limited functionality.

I picked up one of these

http://www.amazon.com/71-key-Wireles.../dp/B005F0MA12

from somewhere a couple of years ago on sale for less than the price at the link, thinking to use it on a PC connected to a TV.

Out of curiousity I plugged its receiver into an S3 HD and some of the keys did something, but I don't remember which ones or what, and I don't remember if I had to reboot the TiVo first to get it to notice the USB receiver or not.

I tried it just now on a TCD140060 that I could get to the back of, and no response.

So I'm not recommending the purchase of anything, just an avenue for exploration.

If you have a wired keyboard with a USB plug instead of P/S2, you could try that as well.

I did. Plugged in the USB keyboard to one of the two USB ports on the Humax and...nothing. No response to any keys. So I rebooted with the keyboard plugged in and...nothing. After reboot no response from any key. <sigh>

So the original question remains...does anyone have a Slide Remote and a Series 2 that can tell me if a Slide Remote will send keyboard letters to the Series 2?

Found an answer at Tivo's Slide Remote page (duh):
http://support.tivo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1786

"NOTE: The TiVo Slide remote is not supported on Series2 DT or earlier DVRs, or on DirecTV with TiVo or Comcast DVR with TiVo DVRs."

<sigh> Apparently the keyboard only works in Bluetooth mode. If the remote is in IR mode, everything works *except* the keyboard, and the Series 2 doesn't support the Bluetooth dongle.

Back to laboriously tapping out titles...
