SNL Fallon, Timberlake 12/21

Gotta say I loved this episode. I didn't FF through 1 sketch, and I think that's a first for me. 1st Justin Timberlake song, while song was good, I couldn't watch the screen.

I especially enjoyed the duet with Fallon and Cecily. Good show, I liked most of it.

The Celebrity Family Feud sketch had so many classic lines...

"CBS is playing for the Red Cross, NBC is playing for NBC Universal.."
"Put on a smart overcoat..."
"I'm on Saturday Night Live..." "I doubt it..."
"Show me Daddy's Wang!"
...and of course, JT and Jimmy cracking up..I do love that so...

I loved the "Christmas at your Parents' House" digital short....gettin' it on in a twin bed...

The real Barry Gibb! At last! Shows you just how high a man's voice can REALLY go!

Hands down the best show of the season...

I wonder how many people in the audience got seizures during JT's first song.

Excellent episode!

However, the bar has been pretty low this season. I'm glad to see they finally pulled together a great episode.

A favor, please-my local affiliate went crazy during WU...what were the jokes about North Korea faxing South Korea the threat and about the Pope? I thought it was my DVR but I actually set the recording on 2 DVRs and it went haywire on both so I guess it was the playback...Can anyone let me know what the jokes were?

And OMG-how funny was Michael Bloomberg? So deadpan-"I applied to teach Spanish at a few colleges but apparently my accent is not BUENO..." "I'm an emotional guy.." BA HA HA! So freakin' funny!

Yes, very sad...all the brothers are dead except Barry. He was a super good sport to show up. Got to give him props.

Fake Paul Ryan made that horrible pun about "Robin" from the rich to "Gibb" to the poor or whatever and the fake Barry Gibb let him have it...BA HA HA!

The punchline for the NK joke was "Fax machine? North Korea sure has a lot of relics from the 90s lying around", as they cut to a picture of Kim Jong Un with Dennis Rodman.

The Pope joke was that the new guy has drawn 4 times more visitors to St. Peter's Square in 2013 than the previous pope has done in 2012. She then said "It's amazing the difference a t-shirt cannon makes" as they cut to a picture of the pope on the balcony photoshopped to be holding a t-shirt cannon.

I noticed Madonna whipped out here phone at the end of the BG talk show sketch and was taking a photo/video of Gibbs and the others dancing (from behind).

Also I saw Chris Rock during the credits. Was he in any of the sketches? I don't remember him being in any of them.

Speaking of Madonna, WTF was that whole bit with her and the grille in the Barry Gibb sketch?

I think that was just a really unflattering white dress.

According to EW, he came by for nothing other than the goodnights.

So Jimmy Fallon basically thanked him for stopping by?

I wonder if Rock was in a sketch cut after rehearsal.

I have no idea, but I would like to know.

Fallon has to be one of the most talented TV personalities/comedians out there today. He's going to be the Johnny Carson. He really deserves the Tonight Show, as did Letterman. Leno never should have gotten it in the first place.

Conan is great. Fallon is better.

This is likely.

Was anyone else distracted by the hoops and hollering of the crowd whenever JT did anything? It was especially bad during the cold open.

I've attended SNL (rehearsal) once and Letterman twice. During the warm-up at both shows they made it really clear that if you holler like that you'll be escorted from the audience.

Loved that they started out the show with "Bring it on down to [insert joke here]ville." And Fallon dancing with JT in those crazy suits was hilarious.

There were many other sketches that were great as well. I loved Fallon doing the impersonations during the monologue, then Paul McCartney showing up and his mic turning his voice into the Chipmunk's voice. Celebrity Family Feud was full of great lines. The "Baby, It's Cold Outside" sketch was excellent.

My only disappointment was that when I saw Fallon cracking up so much during his sketches, I wished Horatio Sanz would make a cameo to crack up with Fallon in a sketch. But supposedly, Horatio has lost a ton of weight, so we probably wouldn't have recognized him even if he did.

Post-weight-loss Horatio showed up in a bit part in an episode of 30 Rock and I had no idea it was him until I saw his name in the credits.

Excellent episode. I'm going to watch it a second time before deleting it, which I haven't done in a very long time.
