South Park - A Song of Ass and Fire - 11/20

This was brilliant, especially J.R.R. Martin parts. I couldn't stop laughing at the a cappella wiener song set to the theme of the show. Princess Kenny was great as well.

There is a spoiler there though, for those that have not read the books, for something to come in season 4, so beware.

Oh, the irony of an Xbox commercial during one of the breaks was fun as well ...

The intro was terrific as well. The regular "Going Down To South Park" song replaced by the GoT music.

And Bill Gates dealing with Steve Ballmer. Oh, my!

Another great episode. But it still feels like another 'to be continued'. They do like the trilogy thing. But next week is currently showing as a rerun.

Not sure I will ever hear the GoT theme the same way again.

Next week being a rerun is because of Thanksgiving. There is a new episode scheduled for December 4th.

I still haven't gotten around to watching GoT but the parallel between the dragons and pizzas (they're coming, really!) was hilarious. All the weiner art in Martin's house was great too.

The painting on the wall at Martin's house looked just like the sculpture that Alex uses to bludgeon the cat lady with in Clockwork Orange.

Yeah the funniest part to me was the amount of actual XBox commercials during the breaks. I wonder if they continue the saga if Sony will buy a bunch of ads. That would be great if the entire commercial breaks were just console ads.

The Balmer scenes were funny, although I think they should have made Balmer more wild and crazy like he really is.

If they continue this I wonder if there will be some twist where Nintendo or the tablets will come in and ultimately win. Perhaps they will be the dragons.

I think what they were going for is his total lack of vision.

I thought they just flipped his personality with Gates, and made Bill the crazy one.

Next week is a rerun due to Thanksgiving. There will be a new episode on Dec 4th which will presumably be the conclusion. I think they originally planned to have it finish before the week off but the missed week messed that up.

You know what I would watch? Game of Thrones, as performed by the South Park gang. I don't mean this type of parody thing they're doing (which is great) but just remake the series, seasons 1 -3, in South Park style. Keep the same script, but throw in a little bit of SP humor now and then. (Cartman as King Joffrey at Battle of the Blackwater - "Screw you guys, I'm going home.") I'd watch that.

That could be a new venture for Trey and Matt. Kind of like the Lego Star Wars/Batman/Indiana Jones video games.

So, Kenny's a real Japanese Princess now ...

Who did the narration at the beginning? I'm hoping it might actually have been Emilia Clarke.

I wondered about that during the show and tried googling, but didn't come up with anything. If it was Emilia or anyone else affiliated with GOT, they've kept it quiet. So I'm assuming it was just an unknown voice actor.

but we need to see the Black Friday battle!!

Maybe the delay in the airing is why the mall pushed BF back a week.

Oh, and I LOLed at the additional penis talk.

Given the speed at which George RR Martin writes, I think it's a case of

My favorite George "Arrrr" Martin joke:

Why doesn't George RR Martin have a twitter account?
Because he killed all 140 characters.

Basically, that would be a rip-off of Family Guy doing the Star Wars trilogy (which was outstanding, BTW)...

There will be a part 3. This episode gave a couple of hints to that (dropping the dates of the third and the 6th of December, specifically) when discussing Thanksgiving getting pushed back. Plus if you understood the length of time between books that ASOIAF fans have to endure you would understand the joke is that it is a long time between the books.

I'd watch that too. It would be similar to Family Guy's Star Wars parody trilogy.

Edit: Guess I smeeked

Why would being a fan of South Park mean you cannot watch FG? I watch both (I did take a break from FG during the original run and came back when they brought it back).

Because Family Guy isn't funny.
