Big Bang Theory - "The Thanksgiving Decoupling" S7E09 OAD 11/21/13

I really enjoy this show, but I have to say this is one of the more enjoyable eps I've seen in a long time.

Many laughs, many great lines, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Loved the big grin Amy had when Sheldon whacked her behind.

Overall a really fun departure from their normal stuff.

Loved seeing Zach again!

It also seemed like he was not as "dumb" as he used to be - there were remarks he made that seemed much more in the 'let's be sarcastic/funny' rather than the 'dumb me' style.

Also very interesting to not only see Howie's house but to not see his mom the whole episode.

Sheldon's smack on Amy's butt was comedic gold. It was nice to see Zach again - he was in my favorite BBT episode (laser off the moon): His timing and delivery is just spot on.

Drunk Sheldon distracted from drunk Penny opening the wine in the car!!!

Of course only Penny would know how to open wine in a car without a corkscrew.

When Howard invited them, I thought, Yeah, we're finally meeting his mother.

I almost fell off the chair when Sheldon started talking football. That sure came out of the blue after all these years. Maybe he can only do it when he's drunk.

Why would you think that? We never saw Carlton the Doorman. We never saw more than a glimpse of Vera. Why would you think we'd see more than the big blob at the wedding?

I remember him talking about this same thing before- his dad and football and there being surprise that he knew all that. It was from what season one?

This is the second episode where Sheldon has shown his football knowledge. In the previous one, "The Cornhusker Vortex," Sheldon taught Leonard football after Leonard felt left out of Penny's football party.

I have a hard time deciding which comments were funnier, there were so many funny ones. The look on Amys' face when she got whacked on the butt was priceless. She sure likes her spankings! When she got sick and lied about it and had to take a spanking her moans were something else.

Sheldon spank Amy (The Big Bang Theory Sezon 6 Episode 10)
You need to upgrade your Flash Player
I loved how Amy nods her head submissively before getting her spanking, and her hideous night gown and 50 pounds of padding.

Getting back to the current episode.... ( now that I calmed myself down )
As far as my 'marital status', I had heard that they have little wedding chapels in Vegas, but if I knew that they had Elvis impersonators acting as the justice of the peace, I would have got married long ago!

You just know he was acting out his own father's behavior. I like how this show explores father issues.

Poor Howard. He'll never gain any traction with Bernadette's father.

Why would the show leave out Bernadette's mother?

Yes, I heard it that way too. It make it much funnier with "a" instead of "the."

I didn't find Sheldon's slave comments funny early on but they were a set up for this gem:
Amy: No traffic. We're sailing.
Sheldon: Yep. Like we're on a ship. Coming from Africa to America.
Amy: Sheldon, that's completely inappropriate. You can't keep comparing yourself to a slave.
Sheldon: Yes, Miss Amy.

I think Bernadette's dad would like to like Howard. It's just that they haven't found anything in common with each other. When Sheldon popped out with football conversation, he suddenly had something in common with him, and found a way to interact. It gave him a common frame of reference and made Sheldon approachable. He didn't even get strange when Sheldon mentioned graduating high school at 11.

Drunk Sheldon was funny. Sheldon voluntarily drinking beer, to the point of getting drunk (and vomiting on a bunch of clowns) was rather humorous. Now maybe people won't get as upset when Penny gets him drunk on "tea" again.

I wouldn't put Wilson in the same category because he was right there on screen all the time, not just a voice or less.
