"The Killing" uncanceled? - could return to AMC

Well, this is certainly an interesting development...

My wife started streaming this. I gave up on the 3rd or 4th episode. I told her it looked like it was going to be red herring of the week. I had made it through the rich boy, the drug dealer boy, and the teacher. Stan was driving the teacher to presumably kill or beat him and I called it quits. It was only then that she told me she had read about the non-resolution in Season 1.

Great news, I loved this show. One of the few cops and robbers show I can handle.

This is interesting. I think the best part of stuff like this happening is that cable/satellite providers will have less power to hold channels hostage when they can't reach an agreement. Think of how differently the AMC/Dish battle would have gone if all of the AMC Original Content was available on Netflix. Gives people more of an incentive to cut the cord and I hope more deals like this are made.

But when a network makes a deal like this, they wouldn't allow the content to be simultaneously available on Netflix. They'd negotiate for an exclusive window before people can access it via Netflix. If not, then the network loses a lot of the value of airing the show.

"The Killing" returning to AMC

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118062923

Quote:
The mystery of whether "The Killing" will be brought back to life has been solved: The show is returning to AMC.

Though neither the cabler nor producer Fox Television Studios would confirm, showrunner Veena Sud and exec producers Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin went back to the writers' room this week to begin work on a third season of the moody drama.

The new season will likely launch in late May, with production set to begin in a few months.

I'll go back for another bite. Even though the last season had a strong finish....honestly I can't even remember who the actual killer was.

It was
Spoiler:
both. Jamie knocked her out and put her in the trunk; Terry dumped the car (with Rosie still alive in the trunk) into the swamp.

And was it a situation where neither knew of the other's actions and therefore it was just a tragic coincidence, or were they in cahoots?

Spoiler:
Terry was unaware that it was Rosie in the trunk. To her it as just some anonymous girl preventing her dream of running away with Ames. Jamie just roughed up Rosie. He DID NOT kill her. Technically that was Terry's doing.

Although
Spoiler:
Jamie intended for her to be killed; he just didn't have the guts to do it himself and was trying to talk Ames into doing it. Terry thought that if she ended the argument by doing it herself, Ames would run off with her.

But legally, participating in a murder IS the same as committing a murder. You're wuh-elcome..

That is not necessarily true, Counselor! Besides, I'm not speaking legally anyway. I'M JUST TALKING ABOUT WHO ACTUALLY KILLED ROSIE. Why are you trying to convince people that the person who WITNESSED the murder COMMITTED the murder. You are so silly.

No, I'm saying the guy who knocked her out, drove her to the lake, and got into an argument with his accomplice as to which one of them should drive the car into the lake is a participant in the murder.

Your original premise was that "both" of them murdered her, which is incorrect. That is was I am saying.

And I'm saying you're as wrong as any human being has ever been, in the whole history of human beings being wrong.

That's all.

Without taking a side, I think Rob might be considering the 'Felony murder rule'.

My program guide says that the pilot is being reshown Sunday the 6th at 5:00 AM Pacific time. Does this imply that they are going to reshow the entire series again?

The Killing cancelled again?

This is a week old (updated Dec. 21), but it postulates that AMC could cancel The Killing again...especially with Hell On Wheels officially coming back for a 10-ep run...
