I hate you Tivo...

I just heard an explosion down the street. TV was up too loud to tell where it came from. Grabbed my remote to rewind and listen again, and it won't work on life.

The longer you own Tivo the more often this will happen. My rewind moments usually occur when in in the car listing to the radio and want to go back to hear something I missed.

Life needs an instant replay button.

I am with you on that, I could use a 30 minute buffer on my radio!

Now you've got me tempted to go to the movies just so I can walk in holding a TiVo remote and watch everybody freak.

I thought I was the only one that did that after 11 years of Tivo use.

Glad it's not just me!

I'm surprised TiVo hasn't made a remote that plays those TiVo bleeps and bloops as you push the appropriate buttons for just this situation.

Be careful what you wish for! There was an Adam Sandler movie ("Click" I think).

I've had this same "what the hell did he say?" reaction. Also in movies with strong accents, the 8 second rewind (I call it the "What?" button--after the third "What?" I turn on closed captions) is invaluable. I think some of the new satellite radios do have a buffer.

Peter Sellers was in a movie that he kept trying to rewind reality, or change to a different channel using a remote control.

I wish I had a rewind on my car radio. I am always hearing something but concentrating on driving instead so need to hear it again.

If I recall correctly, some one was working on a TiVo like radio that would buffer the radio content so you could rewind. It would be easier now with the digital radio.

I, too, can't watch live TV anymore. I have caught myself pointing an imaginary remote at the screen to rewind. At the movies, at sports bars. At waitresses when they say the specials way too fast and monotone.

I would love it if my DVD and BluRay players had the same functionality of the 30 second skip and 8 second quick rewind. I always over or under rewind when watching a disc.

Both my car and my wife's car can pause or rewind satellite radio, which is the only kind of radio we listen to.

Yep, our XM SkyFi2 receivers have had a 30 minute buffer for many years now. Love that feature!

I've experienced this as well, while watching tv (at someone else's house that doesn't have a dvr), and at the movies! One time I actually raised my arm to hit the quick rewind button. I MUST have a dvr. I've been using them for ten years and I expect to have at least one for the rest of my life.
