failed while configuring

getting this error constantly the past 2 days. have only been able to do one successful update out of about ten tries

my Roamio is connecting fine, it is only happening on the premiere. tried a reboot of the tivo, and a reboot of the wireless N tivo adapter, and modifying Ethernet settings. have not rebooted my router yet

usually it will get past "configuring" and then say "connection interrupted"

any thoughts?

Connect the TiVo via hard wire (RG45 eithernet cable.)

I have used the Tivo branded wireless N ethernet adapter for years without issue until yesterday

Well, there you go.
Eliminating the variables, to find the cause of the problem.
That's what troubleshooting is all about.

no connections since Friday and tech support said the recent service update requires a bunch of ports to be open and to contact my router tech support to walk me through that. Are you kidding me with this nonsense? it works fine for two years and now this aggravation

Router = variable.
What if you connected the TiVo directly to your modem?

not an option. I can't believe this is necessary and that
Tivo is going to make millions of non-tech people go through these hoops

Did you reboot your router yet?

I recently moved. When trying to use the wireless N adapter it stopped working (no DHCP server found). My router had also just done an update (WNDR4000) yet all other wireless devices worked after reconfiguration.

Tivo's help page suggested a factory reset of the adapter (use paper clip), then plug it into a PC that has no network connections. I used my Win7 laptop with the wireless turned off. Then plug the N adapter into the laptop and reboot. Plug the CAT-5 connector into the laptop and (enable the wired driver) bring up IE and go to 192.168.10.1. If you get the welcome screen it should look for your router. Select it (hard to see colors) and then provide passcode if needed. Finish, put the N adapter back on the TiVo and see how the TiVo feels about wireless.

The TiVo help page also explains the lights.

update: the ports thing was a smoke screen and wrong. After spending another hour troubleshooting with tivo tech support what fixed it was resetting my Tivo
N adapter to factory settings and reinstalling it. worked instantly after that

and the post above me would have been great two days ago, lol, i fixed it before reading that post
