It wouldn't be the first time; right after Michael Jackson died, Fox wanted to air the episode he was in, but it took so long to get the rights out of syndication that they had to wait another week before airing it.
What I don't understand is, if they couldn't get the rights to "Bart the Lover," how did they get the rights to "The Ned-liest Catch"? (The only thing I can think of is, "Bart the Lover" is on DVD while "The Ned-liest Catch" is not, and won't be for a few more years.)
