Fall update details from Dave Z!

Fear not, TiVo Premiere owners… as our platform hasn’t yet been abandoned. And, within the next few weeks, the Fall Update will begin rolling out — bringing a variety of bug fixes, a far more usable Netflix app, Wishlists in HD, and dynamic tuner allocation for a better TiVo Mini and Stream experience. Unfortunately, the new slightly tweaked TiVo UI (colors, fonts) won’t be available until 2014.

To move to the front of the Fall Update line, simply provide your TiVo Service Number here. Having recently taken the Roamio plunge, I registered my interest and plan to flip my Lifetimed TiVo Premiere XL4/Elite in short order.
Stream experience? How does DTA work with the stream? Unless we are going to get rid of the behavior of initiating a recording in order to watch live tv. (The Roamio works exactly like the stand alone stream)

TiVo S2 (Retired)(lifetime transfer)
TiVo Series 3 (Sold)
TiVo HD (Sold)
TiVo Premier (2 TB Upgrade)
TiVo Roamio Plus
TiVo Mini
iPad TiVo app

I bet they will eventually convert the Stream app over to using real tuner allocation like the Mini. The current behavior was the best they could do back when the Stream was released, but now that they have DTA working it makes sense to convert over to the Mini method of watching live TV.

My big question is.... Now that we have DTA will a 2 tuner Premiere be capable of being used as a Mini host. Since you no longer have to dedicate a tuner for live TV it seems like an arbitrary restriction.

Oh joy, the series 4 units will get the crippled HDUI Wishlists screens now too. Maybe that will generate enough outcry for TiVo to actually fix some of the issues with it...

That's the big question for me. I would buy a mini even though I wouldn't get much use from it if I didn't have to buy a 4 tuner.

- Sony S1 from 2001 with CacheCard+Ethernet
- Series 3 1TB, now with new power supply!
